In your view, what do you think would have happened if we *didn't* do the bailouts?

If you told 10 rich guys, "this ____ will only reward ONE of you financially, but it would be a BIG reward," all 10 would go for it.

I understood the bank bailouts were needed to prevent calamity, but why they didn't include some relief for the homeowners/home-losers and never prosecuted anyone is pretty shitty.

There’s gullible and then there’s willful ignorance, which leads to the predatory lenders circling like vultures because you’ll take whatever they give, and they know it.

The vultures aren’t less wrong because too many were stupid. But the stupid aren’t less ignorant because of the vultures.

If Biden's team thought their task of cleanup was bad wait until the NEXT admin (assuming a Democratic one) tries to fix stuff.

While I'm sure you're very glad to be retired, you must feel pretty badly for your NWC colleagues.

"These people were not hired to be serious. They were not hired to be professional. They were hired to support Donald Trump, never to say 'No' to him and to conduct the affairs of state...as if this is just a big internet fight where the guy with the funniest meme wins." - @radiofreetom.bsky.social

But MAGA will support Trump and his war anyway.

Ellison has promised CNN would retain editorial independence. But then, Bezos said something similar and look how that worked out.

Interesting how little we hear from J.D. Vance about the Iran war these days. He may be trying to distance himself from it so he won't be tagged with it like Rubio will be, come 2028.

But three years is a long time, and Vance will not be able to separate himself from Trump.

And by "us" he means, himself, his family, and some oligarchs.

He's for him, not for us. He never means YOU.

If AI could be restricted to OBVIOUSLY fake but funny and inoffensive, only cat video stuff, I'd be a fan.

Wow! This was a great article that will help me to avoid gambling in its entirety (unless I ever get back to Vegas 😁, but it's been years since I was there last, so no worries).

Thanks for the gift article, Tom.

The fact that these cabinet members are too scared to insist on wearing their own choice of shoes is peak beta cuck.

If Harris could tank because of Biden, then Vance surely deserves the same fate of being unalterably linked to Trump.

The only people demanding to impose religion-based laws in the United States are Christian Nationalists like Mike Johnson.

Is there still money to be made in fossil fuels?

I'm sure your question was rhetorical.

11.03.2026 03:29 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Agreed, but if there's a single dollar left to be made on fossil fuels, no serious alternative energy efforts will be undertaken in the U.S. The grifters and oligarchs in this country don't care about future climate change issues--assuming they even believe in them, as long as they can profit today.

They can fucking start with ME. *I* am responsible for Trump losing Arizona in 2020 (along with 1,672,142 other Arizonans 😊). We also put two Democrats in the Senate.

Blow me HSI.

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

1/ Here's what I can share:

11.03.2026 01:03 πŸ‘ 17735 πŸ” 7145 πŸ’¬ 517 πŸ“Œ 946

2/ Maybe the lead is that the war goals DO NOT involve destroying Iran's nuclear weapons program. This is, uh...surprising...since Trump says over and over this is a key goal.

But then of course we already know air strikes can't wipe out their nuclear material.

11.03.2026 01:03 πŸ‘ 8520 πŸ” 1325 πŸ’¬ 30 πŸ“Œ 37

3/ Second, they confirmed "regime change" is also NOT on the list. So, they are going to spend hundreds of billions of your taxpayer dollars, get a whole bunch of Americans killed, and a hardline regime - probably a MORE anti-American hardline regime - will still be in charge.

11.03.2026 01:03 πŸ‘ 8722 πŸ” 1418 πŸ’¬ 72 πŸ“Œ 45

4/ Ok, so what ARE the goals? It seems, primarily, destroying lots of missiles and boats and drone factories.

But the question that stumped them: what happens when you stop bombing and they restart production?

They hinted at more bombing. Which is, of course, endless war.

11.03.2026 01:03 πŸ‘ 9733 πŸ” 1750 πŸ’¬ 81 πŸ“Œ 108

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.

Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

I cannot find the source of this one: "what Democrats do to their secretaries, Republicans do to the country."

I think it has to be a joke. The use of every one of those terms in a single sentence gives away the game.

10.03.2026 05:27 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Exactly! We have the right to own guns and shoot them, but if we shoot people, there are consequences.

We can agree free speech gives one the right to say what they want, but that has never meant that there is no consideration of a speaker's intent and no consequences for said speech.

We have laws against speech threatening elected officials that acknowledges intent and provides consequences.
