squashing commits is a great skill if you've made 5 commits, converting it to 1 is easy!

`git reset HEAD~5` will uncommit the changes made in the last 5 commits

now `git add .`

then `git commit -m "commit message"`

youll need to force push if you're replacing remote commits `git push -f`
