Today, @sdoughtymp.bsky.social sat down with the APPG for #Cyprus and confirmed that RAF Akrotiri is not being used for any defensive action.

I was grateful for this positive and productive discussion on the coordination of the UK with the Republic of Cyprus in keeping the island safe.

Following the deeply concerning drone attack on RAF Akrotiri, I asked the Prime Minister to share with me what steps the UK is taking to ensure the safety of the island of #Cyprus.

The Prime Minister confirmed to me that he is in contact with the President of Cyprus.

Hi, it was a very positive and productive meeting. I have been assured that the Government will look into the possibility of improving access at the station via a side ramp.

I first met my constituent, Abi, in 2024 after her fiancé, Mithun, was tragically killed in a crash on The Roundway. Since then, Abi has been campaigning for improved road safety in Haringey.

This month, we marked this speed limit change - a direct result of Abi's campaigning.

𝗡𝗘𝗪: #Energy bills to fall by 7% from April!

Labour has acted to bring down energy bills for households in Southgate and Wood Green 🔋

Ofgem have today confirmed the energy price cap is coming down by £117 (7%) from April, because of the decision to remove £150 of costs off #energybills 💡

It was great to meet with The Borgen Project and two wonderful doctors, Dr Ayesha Khan and Dr James Smith, yesterday.

Their outstanding work in conflict zones should not go unnoticed and I was grateful to hear their perspectives.

This afternoon, I met with the rail minister, Lord Hendy 🚂

It was great to have an opportunity to discuss and explore the possibilities of improving #stepfree access at Palmers Green Station, where I know many constituents with access issues have been calling for change.

Great to visit the staff & leadership team at @priorygroup.bsky.social in Southgate to hear how they provide mental health & adult social care support locally and hear their future plans. Also good to hear of their work with the charity Chasing the Stigma trying to raise awareness of mental health

To mark this important week, I visited Asda Southgate to meet Washington, one of their chartered manager apprentices.

It was great to hear about his experience with the course & discuss why apprenticeships are a fantastic way for young people to get into work!

Following a meeting with the Kurdish community this week, I had a brief chance to sit down with the Minister for the Middle East to raise their concerns.

I raised the distress of the #Kurdish community due to events in #Kobane & #Rojava, & the importance of protection for minorities across Syria.

This week, I met with @kinshipcharity.bsky.social and Wendy Turner, a dedicated campaigner, calling for paid parental leave for vital kinship carers 💛

Today, I wrote to @katedeardenmp.bsky.social to outline why the Government’s parental leave review must close this gap in the law.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day.

This year, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust is bridging generations, as the responsibility of remembrance does not end with survivors.

I signed the Holocaust Educational Trust Book of Commitment as part of my remembrance & to vow never again 🕯️

This month, a constituent contacted me to report a dangerously unstable lamppost in Wood Green.

I raised this with Haringey Council immediately, who took action & confirmed the lamppost is now deemed safe.

I share their concerns and support the call for the minimum age for access to social media to rise to 16.
