This is very useful Jon, Its always felt like one of those properties where it is highly dependent on the user and the setup/settings used on the day (different currents/temperature of LED) so removing some of the user error and getting an indication of the error associated is incredibly useful
Dr Jiarong Wu @jiarongwu.bsky.social gives her award lecture on designing photoswitchable imines and driving them out-of-equilibrium during her PhD

Very proud of @jiarongwu.bsky.social! Great talks from both winners!
Jiarongβs award is βfor groundbreaking work on bringing imine photoswitches to practical use and pioneering their application in driving chemical systems to non-equilibrium steady states with lightβ.

Congrats to both of you! Exceptionally proud of @jiarongwu.bsky.social and her dedication to her PhD. This is really well deserved recognition of her efforts!
π’Our team will be advertising a number of fully-funded positions in the coming months (new photoswitch-based projects)π‘π¨ Applicants from the πͺπΊ and π¨π³ are encouraged. More info will be coming soon and advertised on our website imineswitch.com

It is also great that it is awarded to an all round nice guy/team! (In addition to impressive work!).
Check out this new Perspective in Chemical Science from @jiarongwu.bsky.social and @jakeylg.bsky.social (Universitat WΓΌrzburg, Germany)!

Thanks Subhabrata, I hope all is well π
Thank you Nishant π
Yeeee! Thank you Kasper! π I really appreciated the advice you shared when I was in the initial stages of planning this.
π’ ππ Really honoured to announce that I have been awarded an @erc.europa.eu StG for our project (HeliOS)π‘πThis project will be looking at out-of-equilibrium helical structures... more on this soon... (big thanks to those who helped along the wayπ) imineswitch.com #ERCStG
Thanks you Manuel π
Equally, I would like to extend my thanks to the School of Chemistry at St Andrews for all of the organisational support, it's not easy to bring a team and a bunch of chemicals across countries! A special thanks to
Andy Smith and his team for logistical helpππ
I couldn't have asked for a better start-up or support than that offered by the Institute for Organic Chemistry in WΓΌrzburgπ©πͺ I look forward to maintaining close ties to WΓΌrzburg and completing the habilitation.

I forgot that it had so many paragraphs... π Thanks for posting it!
That was a once in a lifetime thing... I don't think we could handle it again... π
Hi Dean, I think I recall your talk but I was not familiar with the field back then and too shy of a PhD student to approach most people back then!
It was exciting enough for me to just be able to attend these talks π
Thanks Felix! π
That's awesome! We are really honored that you chose to look at our work at your journal club π
Only possible with the efforts of the whole imine team :D
Thank you! :D
The reviewers of this paper made some excellent suggestions, pushing us into looking at what happens in DMSO, surprisingly giving some impressive properties due to solvatochromismπ We really appreciate the input of these anonymous heroes!π
