reminder that using AI to generate those action figure things is 1) harmful to the environment. like literally just look up the impacts AI has on energy use and water use. and 2) based on plagiarized art that was stolen and chewed up without consent so you can generate AI slop that looks bad.

Since 1960, childhood mortality has dropped by a factor of five.

A large portion of this is due to the benefits of vaccines.

Please, everybody... if you need something light & funny… If you need a romcom… If you need a feel-good… Please pull up NORTH OF NORTH on Netflix and rate it highly.

Inuit deserve so much more of this.

A lot of things they don’t want kids to learn in educational settings are just subjects they don’t want to talk about with their kids AT ALL. They also hate feeling in any way judged or assessed by their children, and feel like the child’s knowledge might compromise parental control.

Looking back, yes definitely subtle racism that I ignored because he was stable financially and a good provider - one of his few good qualities. Always conservative-leaning which didn’t seem so bad 20 years ago. MAGA certainly allowed his relationship dysfunction and racism to shine.

I don’t badmouth my ex but we are frank about his beliefs and behaviors. They will eventually have the relationship my kids decide to have with him. Sadly it will be my ex missing out on really knowing his awesome kids.

In this situation with my MAGA ex and 2 teens. Kids and I have these convos which ultimately makes us closer. They are not MAGA. With dad it’s all superficial and at least he doesn’t push MAGA. Will be interesting to see how much time they spend with dad once they are adults who don’t have to.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at Stanford University have found that getting vaccinated against shingles- a painful and debilitating condition that can flare up years after infection from varicella zoster virus- not only LOWERS the risk of infection, but can also PROTECT against dementia. πŸ§ͺπŸ§΅β¬‡οΈ

Recovering from measles does not protect against cancer or any other disease besides measles. In fact, a measles infection has the ability to wipe out immune responses built up against other infectionsβ€” a phenomenon called immune amnesia, driven by the destruction of memory T- and B-cells. This leaves people who recover from the measles virus more vulnerable to all other germs.

This bears repeating.

The whole, β€˜good for your immune system’ rhetoric is nonsense generally, but it’s PARTICULARLY dangerous when it comes to measles πŸ‘‡

Never underestimate the power of wearing a mask. It’s a simple and safe act of compassion, resistance & self care

Sick of being sick? Wear a mask.

Want to keep a vulnerable loved one safe? Wear a mask.

Want to show solidarity with disabled people? Wear a mask.

Want to fight fascism? Wear a mask.

I live in Ciscomani’s district. I call his office every damn day. He won by a slim margin and I point that out in every call.
