🎨 Finished personal art featuring my characters Shiloh, Nyru, and Gabriel!

This is the first non-sketchy art I’ve finished for myself in over a year, which is insane and has reignited my dedication to telling these characters’ stories and building their new world this year! 💪

WIP: I’ve FINALLY figured out the method/medium in which I’d like to tell my personal stories moving forward (only took a year+ 🥲), so here’s a quick shot of the latest illustration I’m working on!

Looks like Nyru might be in a bit of trouble? 👀

I was very proud of this jiggly batch ngl 👏😭

And I haven’t used them yet, no! I just always freeze my whole roast chicken carcasses and any bones from chicken thighs we eat over the course of about 3 months, then toss it all together in a stock pot.

I really want to try making tonkotsu broth now…

Aside from her chill demeanor, my favorite thing about Korra is she is just so…dumb lmao like in the purest, most wholesome way possible. I’ve nicknamed her “Korra Gump” because she’s not a smart cat, but she knows what love is!! 🤣

Yesss I got into making my own chicken stock a few years ago and man, it makes the BEST homemade chicken noodle soup ever!! I usually set mine on low and let it simmer overnight — usually 12-14 hours.

I’ve never needed to add water and the end result is this collagen-rich, gelatinous liquid gold 😍

This is my child, Korra, and an example of my favorite glow-up shot of her! 😭 these cats truly are the epitome of “gentle giants” and I adore them for it (and every adult cat I see outside my house now looks like a kitten to me lol)

I’m going to experiment with a simpler/less-rendered version to see if I can find more of a balance between both price and time spent. I’m thinking maybe a cel-shaded style or something…? 🤔 Could be fun to try out a new style, if nothing else!

And thank you for the compliment and feedback! 🩵 I think you’re right that developing a cheaper + simpler/less-rendered version of my badges would be the best thing to try out. Someone mentioned $35-$60 range so that seems fair! 👏

I’m struggling with pricing mainly because I know how tough things are right now and art is a luxury. I’d like to keep my prices as low as possible to appeal to tighter budgets but also not sell myself short…? I suppose I could explore smaller/cheaper traditional art options. 🤔

Is $115 + shipping too much for a traditional con badge these days?

I’d like to open for a couple of slots soon but I had to raise my prices just a bit to try and cover the time they take me to make. It’s about 6-7 hours each 🫠 if I could work faster I would hnnggg
