Joey Barton refused bail after Huyton 'golf club attack' The former footballer has been remanded in custody and will next appear in court on 7 April.

Heard on radio he'd been remanded in custody for alleged GBH with the victim half-blinded.
Not been his day today, has it?

That's what I read somewhere - that they drew up a list of primary targets together with Israel with the assistance of AI.

Agreed. I have a grandson who did T-levels and met a bit of resistance from some but then got an apprentice offer from Chase/JPMorgan

As I understand it, the school took over the part of the base which was closed in around 2012. I thought the clinic still had links to the military base?
It all does seem to point to inadequate target planning (and again, I've read that this was AI "assisted", so the AI using outdated info) #wato

V-levels fine, but they are likely to suffer the same recognition reluctance from employers and higher/further ed that T-levels experience(d). #wato

Straight from the IDF playbook. Bat questions away with promises of an internal enquiry for long enough that the story recedes from public consciousness. #wato

I doubt that anyone can "permanently deny (Iranian - or anyone - nuclear capability) for ever" even if they announce it tautologically Mr Hegseth.

A valiant attempt to hold Israel to the standards of international law, Krish, but that ship sailed long long ago. #c4news

Even more ludicrous is the mention of some Tory MPs seeing Katie Lam as "the next David Cameron"!!

Chris Murphy: "I think it's likely the United States that carried out this attack on this school. I think it's unforgivable under any circumstances, but the fact this was one of our first targeting decisions speaks to the incompetence of our leadership at the Dept of Defense."

T'other place is awash with (unconfirmed) reports of Baron Trump investing in oil a few days before the bombing started.

I suspect the govt will be unwillling to publish the rules of engagement, Mr Military. That doesn't sound like normal practice to me.

The impact of Brexit on immigration to the UK - UK in a changing Europe Jonathan Portes and John Springford share their new analysis that estimates how the number of foreign-born workers would have evolved had the UK remained in the EU.

Ending free movement "led to a modest rise in the number of foreign born workers in the UK, but a dramatic shift in their countries of origin."

Trump should stop posting nonsense &, to use an Americanism, butt out.
UK is preparing *one* aircraft carrier, to defend UK military/civilians, not to join his crazy war. We didn't want to be part of it a week ago & still don't. But we still have to deal with the retaliatory mess he's caused. #wato

BREAKING: No 10 response to Trump: As Keir Starmer said earlier this week, β€œPresident Trump has expressed his disagreement with our decision not to get involved in the initial strikes, but it is my duty to judge what is in Britain’s national interest. That is what I have done, & I stand by it”

The United Kingdom, our once Great Ally, maybe the Greatest of them all, is
finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East.
That's OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don't need them any longer -- But we will
remember. We don't need people that join Wars after we've already won!

History lesson.

Our once great ally didn't come to our aid until 1917.

Our once great ally didn't come to our aid again until 1941.

Again, the unifying 🧡 about Trump’s foreign policy is not realism or neo-royalism. It’s the extension of sexual assault/predation/partner abuse to IR. If he thinks you’re his macho pal, he’ll respect you/your sovereignty. If not, he’ll try to violate you & humiliate you. Epstein-ism, if you like.

I was once stopped by a policeman (on a bike) as a child in the late 60s and told off for not having a bell on my bike cycling down a country lane!
Doubt that would happen nowadays though - no police around and few children cycling down country lanes ...
