Dozens of flower pots containing lilies
As we roll into Valentineβs Day, and with Easter looming- itβs time for my annual PSA- these kill cats. Period, full stop. Lily pollen is insanely toxic and will destroy their kidneys in 18 hours. If you have cats- THROW LILIES AWAY. 1/

hey, so, this is wildly irresponsible "reporting" that seems to be for the express purpose of garnering fear clicks from trans women, and idk why nobody's calling this out. This Is Not Happening, Nor Will It Ever Happen. thread.

So Visa and Mastercard have a huge problem with legal adult content "damaging their brand"?
But somehow they dont't have any problem making money from child abuse in Roblox for over a decade (and going).
Truly the right companies to be our moral guardians.

Federal Reserve Board - Proposal Details
The Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington DC.
Also in light of that, there's a proposal the prohibit the use of reputation risk. We don't need banks and shit telling people what they can do with their money if said thing is legal, just because they happen to not like it.

The only hardline is whether someone is *actually* hurting someone else irl. Feeling grossed out/offended is not the same as getting hurt and assuming someone is dangerous from the fiction they consume is cop shit. Thought Crimes are a fascist concept, censorship is a tool of oppression.

You should call your reps. I know they all suck so badly--I know the Congress hates the American people and resents us so much--but you should call. Oppose the "KIDS Act", a bundle of censorious bills that claim to be about kids' safety online, but endanger everyone's data privacy (including kids).

Cuz don't forget: porn is still legal. But when you can't access it or sell it, they have essentially made it illegal without having to jump through the hoops of actually doing so.
Hate this timeline.

Honestly though? I want to start seeing regulations that protect porn from this stuff. Starting at state level and then going federal.
Guess it's time for me to try and put that pressure on my reps again.

this is the kind of content that ends up getting censored with crackdowns on sex and queer content. people trying to help queer (or straight) homeless kids trying to navigate safe ways to get it on--and they will encounter it either way, just like every kid will

So many folks gleefully tell me, "They won't ever ban porn, come on! This is America!"
But, we are already seeing them do it. It just isn't a bill that says "No More Porn".
Listen when sex workers tell you to be wary of things. They warned of this for a long time.

Individual websites will not save us. Running from platform A to platform B will not work as payment processors and legislation will simply follow our trail
You have to speak out against censorship and surveillance legislation. Its the source of all of this.

The "no furries with humans" rule is consistently one that sites have been forced to implement and that's how you know it's from payment processor pressure.
It isn't a coincidence that these TOS changes all look very similar. It's because it's the same few companies making these sites do it.

Bully PayPal and Stripe but I still think VISA and Mastercard are better targets: as well as asking your reps to start thinking about laws that protect porn from being debanked.
Again, porn is still legal but they're very quickly making it impossible to access, which makes it essentially illegal.

The fun part is it's all subjective.
I've drawn plenty of bdsm, some rough sex, characters with animal traits like tails. What constitutes a violation of the terms? Where are the lines drawn?
We are heading down a dark path and we have to be loud about it.

defending art's right to exist, especially nsfw art, inherenetly involves you having to allow art you don't like or even think is abhorrent or reprehensible to exist. you do not have to pretend to like it or engage with it, but you need to let it exist. you give fascists an inch they take a mile.

"go independent" except not only is there no funding in independent media, the active hostility toward creating art outside the system due to degeneracy TOS makes that even harder

the targeting of any art that is "obscene" (terms of obscenity always to be decided at a whim) is fascistic yes but also how the only kinds of art that tends to be penalized is the individual/independent creators isn't lost on me. a patreon TOS would reject anything that can be streamed on netflix.

Content Review and Pre-Screening
All content submitted, uploaded, posted, or otherwise made available by users on the Platform is subject to a pre- screening and review process prior to publication.
The Platform reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to review, moderate, approve, reject, remove, or restrict any content to ensure compliance with applicable laws, payment processor requirements, community guidelines, and these Terms and Conditions.
Submission of content does not guarantee publication. Users acknowledge and agree that the Platform may delay, condition, or deny the availability of any content pending successful completion of the pre-screening process.
Prior to being permitted to publish content accessible to other users, a content creator must successfully pass the **KYC and profile screening process**. Until this screening is completed and the creator's profile is approved for monetization, the creator may not share content with other users.
First big change we see: "To comply with legal requirements, payment processors, and acquiring bank standards, certain types of content are not permitted on the platform."
There's also clarity about a de facto (but oft-unknown) rule, no content primarily focused on real human performers
