Have these people ever stepped foot in a library
Have these people ever stepped foot in a library
Y'all, I had the most wonderful time last week in Savannah at the Georgia Int'l Conference for Information Literacy. There was a great presentation on how book banning/information banning affects public health. #medlibs
Arizona families are already dealing with rising costs, and Trumpβs tariffs are only making it worse. We need smart trade policies that protect Arizona jobs without putting more financial pressure on working families. I'm fighting to make sure our economy works for everyone.
Releasing male Aedes aegypti mosquitoes into the wild that were infected with the sterility-inducing bacteria Wolbachia pipientis cut dengue infection risk more than 70% in people, according to a cluster-randomized trial.

they didnβt leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they donβt seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
This has to stop

Word underlines Escitalopram in red. Sure. Itβs a made-up word (yes, all words are made up, bear with me) - but right-clicking it, one of the suggested replacements is Citalopram.
That is ALSO a made-up word. I dread carelessness switching peopleβs meds on them.

We are currently in Year 5 of the existing funding cycle. Under typical circumstances, the new RFA would have been released in June; however, it is now anticipated to be issued after the current cycle concludes on April 30, 2026. A "gap year" or a βYear 6β is expected with no additional funding, with the next funding cycle set to begin on May 1, 2027. During that interim year (May 1, 2026 β April 30, 2027), many, if not all, Regional Medical Libraries and Offices will be closed. As a result, NNLM is not expected to offer funding opportunities, professional development, or related services during this time.
Potentially catastrophic behind-the-scenes news about the Network of the National Library of Medicine (www.nnlm.gov) shared with me today.
While some NNLM host institutions were able to float the offices while funding was paused or delayed in 2025... it is unlikely that happens again.

How are folks handling #copyright when it comes to using things like chatGPT/Claude/CoPilot for #evidencesynthesis tasks. E.g. using CoPilot to do QA/bias assessments, or Claude for data extraction. Do you use only open article pdfs? Has anyone seen any work on this? #systematicreviews #medlibs

More testing might seem like a step toward greater safety. But this change doesnβt make vaccines safer or science stronger. Instead, it forces researchers to unethically withhold proven protection from some patients, under the guise of βscientific rigor.β www.statnews.com/2025/05/22/v...
