how to find a cat lost in a holodeck
Reading between the lines here Iβm thinking maybe a βmazel tovβ is in order this morning?
Fair, Iβm thinking more morally than anything else but hopefully they can find a way to part ways
I hope itβs not anything more than that
Why would this guy be welcome back at @ucsanfrancisco.bsky.social?
Is the implication here that somebody is responsible for keeping evangelicals out of power? Or that they need a boost because they canβt access it on their own?
Of course having a Jewish wife doesnβt mean Platner isnβt a Nazi. But I canβt find a single source other than an antisemite on substack confirming that his wife is Jewish. WTF is Grim even doing here?
He pals around with Nazis. Being overly friendly to antisemites shouldnβt be acceptable for a βprogressiveβ senator
As a Jew Iβm much more alarmed today by the prospect of a Senator Platner than I was by the prospect of a Mayor Mamdani. I wish some of the folks raising alarms about the latter were using their platforms now
A driver apparently struck an off duty police officer who was working at the USA Half Marathon championships in Atlanta, indirectly causing the leaders of the womenβs race to take a wrong turn off of the course near the end of the race
Antisemitism might not be a problem for you but it should be a problem for a Democratic senate candidate
Tonight we honor the bravery and strength of the Jewish community.
Wishing everyone celebrating Purim an evening of generosity, joy, and togetherness.
Chag Purim Sameach!
Yes this is very much wishful thinking. Iβve never seen Waymo speed or run a stop sign but they idle blocking traffic or bike lanes all the time (and there is documentation of at least one red light running incident). Their inability to find available curb space makes other drivers worse, not better
Surely the statute of limitations is longer than 3y
Given their stance towards Taiwan and actions in the South China Sea itβs not clear that China should be on there, either. It seems like all of the permanent members have outlived their usefulness
My only complaint is that itβs so wildly popular that secondary tickets for the remaining shows are going for hundreds of dollars a seat
Yes, my impression is that itβs mostly only liberals who left Twitter, centrists and the far left have disappointingly stuck around
We stand by San Francisco-based companies that are resisting coercion by the federal government to be used for mass surveillance and autonomous weaponry. Supervisor Sherrill and I are introducing a resolution at the San Francisco Board of Supervisors next week to affirm this right.
if you believe in any form of free enterprise at all, the idea that the Pentagon can not only cut off your contract but designate you a supply chain risk and prevent other companies from buying from you just because you won't build killbots for the government should be terrifying
The fact that an entire class of people in Kansas has just had their IDs revoked with no notice, and there's nothing in the mainstream media, is beyond terrifying. As of tomorrow, it's illegal in Kansas for trans people to drive, buy alcohol, or sign many contracts, and no one is talking about it.
Iβm glad that we have a mayor and a state senator who call out the normalization of antisemitism in public life that we see across the spectrum today. Itβs also great that DSA acted to call out this person as it happened, but itβs frightening that anyone feels emboldened to make that chant in public
This mayor leaves plenty to be desired and for someone who focuses so much on optics I agree that he could have been more clear here. But, at the same time, if he (or Senator Wiener) had wanted to directly implicate SF DSA they very easily could have included that in their statements.
If sheβs right then Iβm willing to believe that itβs an honest mistake on the mayorβs part. Neither Lurie nor Wiener mentioned who specifically was protesting or even where and when exactly the event was. If they wanted to be βcynical and reprehensibleβ they could have been more specific about it
I donβt see the Senator or the Mayor blaming protest attendees broadly or the DSA specifically in either of these posts
This is vile but tragically not surprising. Weβve seen broad-based normalization of anti-Jewish rhetoric & stereotypes online, in political & community spaces, in schools & on college campuses.
Itβs beyond dangerous. The normalization & acceptance of antisemitism must end.
Heβs so close pointing out βthere are still people in doorways looking for shelterβ (during a snow storm) and then focuses on one of the least impactful factors of many
AVs will someday be safer than average human drivers.
More important question: Will AVs make city streets safer?
A: Only if the deadliest human drivers give up driving.

As the guy who wrote the book on zoning abolition, I'd like to go on record as saying: if you can use zoning to stop the concentration camps, fucking go for it.
