There is something about that almost translucent color that makes me want to try to capture it over and over again.

Inspired by the same shade of red used in some of Wes Anderson’s films, by Wild Isley tattoos and by Mary Engelbreit’s cherry imagery I grew up with.

I’ve been craving painting using physical media again so I created this with gouache and cut out painted paper (although I’d like to get back into oil paints as well).

I’ve always been obsessed with the juicy neon kitschy red of maraschino cherries.

These are from another new trail I was exploring earlier last summer. It is fun to walk slowly and see what you can notice! In this batch I found a five-lined skink peeping on me and a hornet's nest through the woods.
