Thurs 17 April 2025, 5.45pm. Cardiff Central Library Hub. Gathering: Women of Colour on Nature (plus open mic), with Durre Shahwar and Hanan Issa. Join us as we celebrate a year since the publication of landmark essay collection  Gathering: Women of Colour on Nature (editors: Durre Shahwar and Nasia Sarwar-Skuse). As well as readings from the book and discussion with co-editor Durre Shahwar and contributor Hanan Issa, National Poet of Wales, there will be an open mic on the theme of connections with nature and landscape. All are welcome.

My favorite story about Kafka tells how he met a child who was crying after losing her doll. He wrote her letters from the doll until she wrote back saying she was over it. The great artist as self-contented misanthrope is a myth. If you love what art really is, you help people.
