This is a Moonbow...

A rainbow forms as a result of the refraction of sunlight as it passes through water droplets; refraction causes sunlight to be split into the spectrum.

For a Moonbow, the only difference is the light source is no longer the Sun, but the Moon.

The X-wing books were the first Star Wars books I ever read. I remember referencing the OT trying to put a picture to the names of ships/aliens etc.
