The claim made by Beatty that Healy told lies about his childhood experiences is decisively refuted. But beyond exposing Beatty's malicious hack work, Tom Scripps' historical essay is a fascinating and moving exploration of the fate of one family in a period of violent political upheavals.

This is my review of Aidan Beatty's hack biography of Gerry Healy. Beatty's exercise in political slander was commissioned by the DSA, of which he is a member, and financed by pro-Zionist institutions. From the standpoint of historical scholarship, the book is worthless.
