The CTA's updated plan, which it submitted ahead of deadline, will boost policing hours on the CTA by 75% overall, the CT said Tuesday. That will include the Sheriff's Office police officers, who will be deployed on the CA's rail system specifically. Those officers will provide 4,400 staffing hours on the CTA each month, the agency said. The plan also calls for doubling the number of Chicago police officers who volunteer to work overtime on the CTA, the agency said. The CTAS original security plan also called for beefing up the hours put in by this team, as well as an increase in the number of privately contracted security guards on the system. It was not immediately clear if the security increases in Tuesday's plan would be instituted on top of, or instead of, the increases laid out in December's plan. The Chicago Police Department will also increase the staffing hours provided by members of its public transportation units - which currently number around 180 officers - by 34%.

1 thing you gotta realize is that cis people's ability to clock someone is lower than trans people's by a genuinely heroic degree. this is partially them being dumb, partially them caring less about gender, but mostly their assumption that even if trans people exist they'll probably never meet one
