A painting of a clocktower drawn from different coloured molecules.
A close up of the clocktower drawing reveals the molecules that make up the artwork.
We have unveiled this amazing picture of the iconic Old Joe clocktower by School alumnus Lucy Walker, drawn using molecules, in the foyer of our new home the Molecular Sciences Building #chemsky

The periodic table color-coded by liability. Most of the elements are green, which means they can be licked. All of the elements along the bottom row, as well as a few other elements are purple, which means you should not lick them. Most of the elements in group one two and 17 are not lickable

I had a fantastic time at #MASC2024 in York. First conference since arriving back in the U.K.. Great to meet many new people, catch-up with others and see some fab supramolecular and macrocyclic chemistry presented. Huge thanks to the organisers for putting together such a great meeting.

Hi Adam, I take your point that the quadratic formula can be presented in a way that does not inspire understanding or affection. And it sounds like that's how it was taught to you. So let me try to make a better case for it. Here's how I discussed it in my book The Joy of x. (1/9)
