Make it clear that it's a temp rule and clarify what the actual rule is next session. You can also just agree to keep using the temp rule if you like it more. But be clear so your players don't feel like your wickle by switching rules later
GM Tip: When you don't know a rule mid-game, make a quick call and move on. Look it up between sessions. Stopping play to debate the rules kills momentum. Accuracy matters less than flow.
