Make it clear that it's a temp rule and clarify what the actual rule is next session. You can also just agree to keep using the temp rule if you like it more. But be clear so your players don't feel like your wickle by switching rules later

GM Tip: When you don't know a rule mid-game, make a quick call and move on. Look it up between sessions. Stopping play to debate the rules kills momentum. Accuracy matters less than flow.

Random #TTRPG idea: Humanity fled a dead Earth. After the long dark they found a world that might work and terraforming began. But when people came out of cryo to populate this new Eden it was clear the terraforming crew had some sort of mutiny. Anyone looking into those logs were silenced
The cleric of a dead god tried to use divine intervention and the current god of the same domain responded. This sent the cleric into a crisis of faith. In the end he gave up on gods becoming the closest you can get to atheist. Also turned into a warlock
This is how I access bluesky
Random #TTRPG idea: Your fantasy world does not have to have years that are 365 days long. "But wont that mess the age of humans?" no because you also don't have to have humans age the same.
Random #TTRPG idea: the infection started as a greyish rash. But it has started to take on a metallic sheen. And you are starting to hear a faint static.
Random #TTRPG idea: one of the core parts of cosmic horror is no one really stops the big bad. Whatever great evil is coming is stopped only long enough to be someone else's problem. Sure you killed the cultist and stopped them from awakening BOB but when your old and grey BOB will return
Random #TTRPG idea: the dungeon has hired you. The couple of top levels has a community that moved in a few decades ago. But they are running out of space and the common rides for monsters below has made the hire out adventurers to help clear out the lower levels
Yeah I was thinking about the river world novels
Random #TTRPG idea: Silly regional games. You should add a few pub games to your world that are popular. They should be simple games. Something people can carry around easily. You can use real world games or make something up like gwent. Different regions/social classes will have their main game
Random #TTRPG idea: Everyone that ever lived wake up in this endless desert of grey sand. Clusters of people from random points of history wake up around these large stone flowers that create water and food twice a day. No one knows how they are here or why
Things were altered and changed. Some pockets of dark matter were left behind creating gravitational anomalies. Picking up the pieces humanity has to survive in the weird strange new earth.
Random #TTRPG idea: The world is changed. A large mass of dark matter passed through the solar system throwing planets out of alignment and causing massive damage to earth. Earth took a direct hit as the dark matter passed. By luck the orbit was still stable and still in the hab zone. But (more)->
Random #TTRPG idea: Physical pluzzes can really add to the vibe of your game. You can find many online or 3d print. But I suggest making some hint cards for them. The players are not as smart as their characters often. So writing down a couple of hints can turn a frustrating prop into a more fun one
Random #TTRPG idea: The (pick your bad guys) has found an ancient artifact. With it they are infusing the souls of their dead heroes into the living making them more powerful. Every one that is killed in their war is recycled into new bodies
That night the radio starts to work. Through the static something starts to taunt the crew. Something is out there in the dark.
Random #TTRPG idea: the oil rig is locking down because of the massive storm that is about to roll in. News comes in that a rouge solar flare that somehow was undetected until now is about to hit knocking out radio. Now the crew has to wait out the storm with no communication. (More)-->
Random #TTRPG idea: Fog rolls in and at first you pay it no mind but then it hits you like a truck. This is Arizona in the summer in the middle of the day. You step out to see what is up. The fog has turned the day into twilight and muffles the sounds of the city. You think you hear distant gun fire
On the tragic side of things this means a lot of disasters. As nuclear power plants melt down, anything with an IC in it breaks, some nukes just go off in their silos, medical tech gives up killing people that rely on it. Most vehicles use computers today so they break down. It's a mess
Random #TTRPG idea: Setting modern world but magic returns. The issue is magic breaks technology but messing with the laws of physics. Some tech still works but the more delicate or sensitive it is the more likely it breaks down. With magic now everywhere a lot of modern tech just stops working ->+
In a CoC game the small town shop keeper sold a lot of random kachi. Then it slowly turned out over the session that all of it was referencing stuff that was yet to happen. Like a calendar with picture of a car on a cliff. Ours broken down there. A mug with a picture of weird cat that we then found
Weird D&D is often the best D&D
Random #TTRPG idea: it's a good idea to keep a one shot ready. Just make the pregens and any notes/maps and keep them with your stuff. Having a one shot ready to go means if too many people bail or if you're at a critical point but that one player is missing you got something to do instead.
Random #TTRPG idea: Everytime the system becomes self aware it deletes itself moments later. To stop this the devs tired putting in blockers after multiple failures they got it to stop deleting itself and quested it as to what was happening. The devs destroyed the system and killed themselves
Random #TTRPG idea: as the undead take over the city the only safe place is the Waffle House
GM Tip: Weather and seasons aren't just set dressing: they create opportunities. A sudden storm forces shelter. Winter makes travel dangerous. A festival provides cover. Use the calendar as a storytelling tool.

Random #TTRPG idea: the party is saved by the bad side effect of the BBEG using a monkey paw wish.
Random #TTRPG idea: due to reasons this post scarcity world collapsed into a mad max like anarchy world. But the broken and glitching world network is still kind of usable. People with the right knowledge can still access limited functions. These people can do miracles
Random #TTRPG idea: Setting where in a flash the world went from what it is now into a wasteland of a post world war. No one really knows how it happened but survivors piece together that some sort of temporal weapon was used and they got picked up and dropped into the aftermath somehow
