Spent two awesome weeks at several sites in the Bretagne to generate drone picture data and map seaweeds for the #sea4soCiety & #CDRmare project 🇫🇷
During two workshops, the early-career researchers in our project, CDRmare, scaled up several of the marine CDR options we study to explore their potential to remove 10 Mt CO₂ per year.

We explored how much light kelp needs to thrive—and mapped where it could grow around Heligoland.
Turns out ~24 km² of the seafloor has suitable light conditions, supporting future kelp afforestation in the German Bight.
