Just another train enthusiast On this profile, I post photos and videos of trains (and other forms of transportation). If you follow me you should subscribe to my YT channel at youtube.com/@transitsurfer as well as my blog at transitsurfer.blogspot.com/

I think that it's more a matter of who you follow rather than who follows you when it comes to what appears on your timeline/feed
Reliving the glory days
I never noticed that when I travelled weirdly enough
It's supposed to show all stations that will be served with a light, and on some other trains the next station will have a flashing light.
Stations already passed shouldn't have the light on - maybe this train had an issue?
Only some faregates accept contactless to save money since Octopus is the norm (since it essentially functions as a debit card)
I agree, communication in Hong Kong is definitely lacking
I wish you good luck with travelling on the Island Line :)
There's only one octopus machine since you can top up octopus at convenience stores (e.g 7-11)
*every 10 minutes between tsing yi and tung chung
Tung Chung Line is every ten minutes due to budget constraints caused by construction of the line being a few years before handover from UK to China. The Airport Express and Tung Chung Line have to share tracks between Sunny Bay and Tsing Yi (and other various locations)
I believe there are tickets machines just are baggage reclaim / customs which is where you're supposed to buy your ticket
I'll try to explain why all of this is the way it is, with individual replies to each section.
Also in Japan are other metros such as the Kyoto Subway and Osaka Metro
Canning Town Station
Here's some more photos of the Australian High Comission
I've decided that for no good reason I'm going to try and visit every embassy in London.

Quick note: I am only reviewing the standard liveries, not any collab liveries, such as the One Piece Shinkansen trains
High D-tier: D2 Series - Its a bad livery. Has the colour awkwardness of the E3 but with even more blandness.
Low D-tier: 800 Series - Its as basic as basic gets. Plain white with a narrow red strip.
Low B tier: 500 Series - The blue is good but doesn't flow as well as the N700
High C tier: E3 Series - An OK livery, but the colour scheme is a bit weird.
Low C-tier: N700S-8000 - Has too little. The red base is nice but is too subtle.
Low A tier: E6 Series - Its a bright and vibrant livery, but the silver band doesn't work quite as well as the E8's gold band
High B tier: E5/H5 Series - A solid livery, but that's it.
B tier: N700 Series - An iconic livery but doesn't have much to it.
I got bored so here's my tier list of all current Shinkansen Liveries with a brief explanation of why:
S tier: E7/W7 Series - No notes. Its excellent.
High A tier: E8 Series - Its a great livery, similar to the E7 but not quite as refined.
I referenced the UK's IET trains to show that factors like frequency are very effective at driving passenger growth, even with seat comfort at a minimum.
My argument is not that I accept the torture of people, as implied. Nor is it that train seats should be stripped to the bare minimum. In fact, I stated that train seats do need improving, but we don't need "first class" seats in standard.
Not a fan of "let's publicly call out someone who doesn't agree with me".
I'm arguing about priorities to improve railways, and you've turned it into an argument that I'm "toxic".
I have only ever had one singular instance where someone (who is not a train enthusiast) has actively complained to me that the seats were bad - and that was onboard the class 800, so I think that it's mostly train enthusiasts who care about seat comfort (because they are aware, thus placebo effect)
In all honesty, the trains seem fine.
Those seats look excellent from a UK standpoint, so hearing people actually get angry about it took me by surprise.
