also, let me be clear, this isn't "the characters are consistent" this is "my arc is over now so i will never grow beyond power level"

some of these characters arcs have been over for more than 20 years

like yes the worldbuilding is extensive and everything connects and flows back in on one another but ffs.

the characters are boring as shit?

their entire personalities will never truly grow

and now that i have spent a long time away from it (multiple years now) im just like "wait... i liked this??? this is so badly written and the characters literally never evolve or grow beyond new moves once they've had their arc"
