Until the universities do something to acknowledge they will value them, either with credits or with admissions impacts, the vast majority of parents and families will never embrace even exceptionally complex and demanding topics courses. I really don't see a way out of that particular rat trap.

But it ends up going nowhere cuz college counseling is like, "Unis won't be able to parse this and parents won't understand it and people won't enroll when they can take AP compsci instead"

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I even try to pitch it as, these types of courses can distinguish our school in a competitive marketplace. Why go somewhere else and take a generic AP that is basically available for 30 bucks from barnes and noble, when we can offer special topics courses that are unique?

βWe have seen Iran as an imminent threat against America not just for the last four days, not just for the last four months or four years, but for the last 40 years,β said Representative Brian Mast of Florida, the Republican chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
My friend, that is not what the word imminent means...

This 100%, the test just wants you to have a one sentence summary to cite in an essay not think about the historical examples they cite, or the arguments they are responding to, or how philosophical sources they are drawing upon

"As educators, we are duty bound to defend β and advance β human intelligence. To do that, we first need to recognize that it is under attack. Science fiction has long depicted a future in which artificial intelligence becomes so strong, it overpowers humanity. In fact, the battle between bots and brains has already begun, and educators can see how it might end. Young people are quickly becoming so dependent on A.I. that they are losing the ability to think for themselves. And rather than rallying resistance, academic administrators are aiding and abetting a hostile takeover of higher education."
The first paragraph alone is a banger - this should be what every person in education shoul dbe shouting from the rooftops, rather than "let's find ways to encourage hybrid AI writing" or "let's teach AI responsibility" www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/o...

From Pill Mills to Prop Bets: Prediction Markets and Mobile Sports Betting Apps Are Fueling Americaβs Next Addiction Crisis
Against the gamblification of the world.
I see no reason not to look at the online gambling and prediction market craze as a new opioids crisis.
It will wreak havoc on lower-income Americans and leave a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.

This actually is a real question though for interpretation and implementation of the Clean Water Act. There's case law (Sackett v EPA) and everything. I agree with your broader point but this one actually could be a thing that has real impacts.
