The great sorrow of teaching Völsunga saga is that my students will never, never, love this text as much as me. I am re-reading Byock's translation to teach it and I just keep remembering how absolutely hard this saga goes.
I’m spending 1000£ on just registration and accommodation alone, and I’m while I’m in a lecture-ship, I’m only 2 yrs out of my PhD! Kzoo does this thing where rather than measure by whether you’re employed or not, your income bracket is what informs the sliding scale of registration
