Really enjoyed watching that combo work this year.
These things can change pretty quickly, but it feels like its trending in that direction.
No lies detected. All three can be retained at a reasonable rate, and you know all three are solid fits.
The Patriots have six of their own free agents out there:
Unrestricted free agents
ED K'Lavon Chaisson
S Jaylinn Hawkins
OT Thayer Munford Jr.
Restricted free agents
LB Jack Gibbens
DL Jaquelin Roy
Exclusive rights free agents
RB Deneric Prince
Another old-guy request: Calais Campbell. One year with one of the most well-respected guys in the game at a relatively affordable price. Can still play in his late 30s. I'm a fan.
Maybe it's because I'm an old guy, but if they can't land Hawkins, I'd be a fan of them bringing in another old guy in Byard. Vrabel knows him going back to Tennessee. He'd be a two-year bridge guy until the next guy, but I think that would work. (Again, in a possible post-Hawkins landscape.)
Like it, but don't love it. You might be able to get the same sort of work out of someone of equal or comparable value either in FA or the draft. Vrabel did say he liked the TE depth in this year's draft class.
I love Trent Williams. I really do. I do not, however, love him at a cap hit of almost $40 million. If you can move him off that price point just a bit, then I think we can have a conversation.
I’ll take that, Bernd. Appreciate you, my guy.
I like it. If Hawkins does leave, I’m a Byard guy. Know he goes back to Tennessee w Vrabel. Smart veteran.
That would be a good day, imo.
I shouldn’t post before my second cup of coffee. That’s safety, and that should be under defense.
Off to run a penalty lap….
Yep. Still work to be done.

Winners and losers from the first day of the NFL’s negotiating window.
No compensatory picks for the Patriots this year.
@normcharlatan.bsky.social NESN is showing a replay of Sox-M’s from 1997. You are struggling in the ninth, my guy.
According to a league source, the Patriots have had conversations with reps for free agent WR Romeo Doubbs. The 28-year-old had 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns last season with Green Bay.
Per sources, the Patriots and reps for Jaylinn Hawkins continue to talk about a potential return to New England for Hawkins. The veteran safety is a free agent.
Lotta things can change between now and the start of next season, but this could present an opportunity for the likes of youngster Cory Durden, who improved greatly over the course of the season.
Multiple outlets now saying WR Mike Evans is headed to the Niners.

Tonga reportedly signs with the Chiefs. Going to miss that dude. Sincerely. Just relentlessly upbeat, every day.
My guy Sal says the Patriots landed a standout in Gilliam.
