For gamers “modernizing” something just means replacing entire gameplay styles even if they’re clunky with new familiar gameplay. You can’t have the game say “no, you meet ME halfway” anymore because folks don’t value games as a hobby where you try to get used to a game’s rules.

late on this but yesterday marked 90 years since Page Miss Glory came out so a good excuse to post part of it. Tex Avery who directed it retrospectively did not like it, but it still is one of the best Art Deco animations ever imo

RE1 Remake is also the best remake the industry has ever done and I'd play that too if you haven't. Its honestly the closest a remake has ever come to being better than the original at being the original, and even still its a different experience in the bigger picture
