Anne Frank most likely died of typus from an outbreak in the camp she was imprisoned in.

I can trace a straight line from my parent being obsessed with Jon Stewart in the early aughts, to their embrace of Trumpism a few years later. It’s the cruelty of the mockery, the elitism, the selective outrage and empathy. I’m unsurprised by Stewart’s recent choices, unfortunately.

Hey Jon Stewart, jokes about wearing masks aren't funny Critics of the host say he's a hypocrite.

No one randomly owes you information about their health, their loved one’s health, or, understandably, just wanting to avoid Covid, which is the only way to prevent Long Covid.

I am convinced in the future we will look back and realise the sheer unimaginable folly of letting a virus that can cause immune dysregulation and cognitive dysfunction in humans infect and re-infect the global population over and over again. Worse still, that we encouraged it.

In 2025, TV finally reflected the lingering effects of living through COVID-19 In 2025, TV finally reflected the lingering effects of living through COVID-19

It’s such a mindfuck to see articles & TV shows trying to sensitively reflect on the ongoing COVID pandemicβ€”but doing so only in the past tense, or as if it were a horrible event that ended in 2022 & is all behind us now & we just need to deal with the psychological after effects. It ain’t over.

Kids are missing more school. Experts say mental health is a factor | CBC News A CBC investigation finds that school time lost due to reported illness is up in all districts that provided data β€” more than tripling in some places compared to five years ago. While the data doesn’t...

Yes, mental health and bullying play a role.

Both issues are almost certainly made worse by a neuroinvasive virus which causes anxiety and affects executive functioning, leading to increased aggression and diminished resiliency.

Oh, and then there’s good ol’ ILLNESS.

COVID Isn’t Going Anywhere. Masking Up Could Save My Life. "When I am in public spaces and see most people unmasked, I feel like an expendable burden not worth saving."

Respect Alice Wong’s call here:
β€œWhen I am in public spaces and see most people unmasked either because they think the virus is a hoax, that masking is virtue signaling & a sign of weakness, aren't thinking about it, or that they simply don’t care, I feel like an expendable burden not worth saving.”

I’m having the same problem with a different Oral-B floss product. Used them regularly for over a decade without a problem. Now they snap apart immediately.

If you are making plans to buy, travel, or do anything else this holiday season in the same way as you have in previous years, you do not understand the assignment.

The holidays are the beating heart of American capitalism. It's how they get most of the money they get from us. This year, we say no.

I find that statement β€œkids are germiestβ€œ utterly infuriating.

Children are meant to be cared for by adults.

If they have excess quantities of β€œgerms” it’s our fault for not giving them healthier environments to grow up in.

They are kept in overcrowded, under-ventilated, under funded πŸ’© holes.

So much for those trusted, educated individuals trying to tell us COVID is just the flu.
They had no clue. They lied.

These new headache issues...may have further complicated an already pressing public health issue, the study found."

This Physicist Says We Don’t Take COVID Seriously Enough | The Tyee We downplay the virus at our peril, warns Yaneer Bar-Yam. And children are more at risk than we thought.

If you think the #COVID19 pandemic is done and ever-evolving variants pose no significant threat, consider these two realities, writes contributing editor Andrew Nikiforuk.

if you believe that a better world is possible, you may be tarred as a doomer, because achieving a better world involves calling attention to what is wrong with this one.

your very optimism is called pessimism, particularly by people for whom the current world is more than comfortable.

Y'all are not upset enough about THE SNAP situation for my liking. This is the intentional starvation of a civilian population that is dependent in the first place because the government manufactured conditions of deprivation.

We don't have a lack of food. We have a surfeit of greed and evil.

When β€œexperts” say COVID-19 is mild for kids…

THEY HAD, AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TEN YEARS WORTH OF INFECTIONS WILL CAUSE.

I try to be professional on this platform but there are times, like now, when it hits me hard on a visceral level that we are in the midst of a catastrophic global public health crisis and it seems, as a species, we've somehow decided that ignoring it is the best plan we've got.

I’ll never forgive schools and healthcare systems that had years to fix the air and didn’t.

They had the money. The science. The time.
They chose denial instead of duty.
