‘The Art of the Deal’ ☹️
‘The Art of the Deal’ ☹️
No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
i post this story every christmas, and will keep doing so until it stops making me cry

In an era filled with tech dipshits who never developed emotionally past the age of 13 & use their wealth to become odious monsters ...

Massive away win for the little fella.
Just catching up on the department of gov efficiency announcement from over the pond. So, like Twitter, did the US election just become a massive crypto booster scam?
Your air fryer would just hear you going on and on about air fryers

The book cover styled as a poster for Jon Ronson’s Psychopath Night live show at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
A lofty view of the stage at the Theatre Royal, taken from the stratospheric seats I booked for my wife and I.
Had a very rare date night (thanks to sisters-in-law for babysitting), and went to see Jon Ronson’s live show. It was such a good update on the book. It still outlined the book’s message for those who hadn’t read it, but connected it to some more recent events/characters - Musk, Boris, Trump etc.
This is so charming and lovely. Perfect Friday content and a good thing to share with those who may have been led, by cynical demagogues, to believe that multiculturalism has made London some sort of dystopian hell. ~AA
We could treat the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as, you know, guidelines on making things accessible to people who use the web in different ways. Instead of a crib sheet on how to get away with doing the legal minimum. Wild, I know.
I was about to reuse my Twitter profile pic for consistency, then realised I’d deleted it along with the app. 🤦♂️
Day 4 since deleting Twitter and going all-in on here: still amazed at how quick you can read through your timeline when it’s not 50% drop-shipping ads or crypto scams.
On holiday for a week, so it’s a good time to delete the Twitter app and run a little experiment on the detox effect.
This coinciding with the Oasis announcement is probably correlation rather than causation…

But then again, I discovered it via this top-notch pisstake reply, so my faith in humanity was restored a little bit: x.com/kendrictonn/...
Twitter is definitely making me extra-sensitive to the ongoing enshittification of many digital platforms, but FFS logging in to Evernote via the browser is just a brick wall these days.
My son, his aunt and grandmother decanting extra virgin Cypriot olive oil from a tub
Three generations of the family decanting olive oil, fresh from my wife’s grandma’s garden in Northern Cyprus. 12 litres and counting…
Just heard the very sad news about #tonyhusband. I've enjoyed his cartoons ever since I was about 8yrs old reading Oink! magazine.

Got away with it though. We had a top-notch Delivery Manager at the time. 😉
Ouch! Reminds me of the time I accidentally deleted 12 out of 16 interview videos the day before I was due to start clipping them up. 🤦♂️ (we had text notes though!)
I was just trying to pin down why I like this new place so much…
Nerdy photo of a Canyon Stoic mountain bike propped on a log by a muddy trail.
NEW BIKE DAY!! I’ve only got time for a short blast at lunchtime, but the weekend will involve some muddy action.
I totally missed that this is now available, but looks great: www.deceptive.design/book
Fairplay. But as an aside, I haven't seen that smug croissant dude for years. Like seeing an old acquaintance, and adds to the 'BlueSky is like old-school Twitter' feeling. Thank you. 😀
(Slowly) trying to rebuild my Twitter follow list on here.
