We could say that pole dancing is very different from straight up porn, some of which is *very* extreme and weird. If they don't want their characters being associated with zoophilia or mutilation, it's not a holier than thou attitude. It's a completely normal and reasonable stance for a company.
Sensationalist journalism doesn't necessarily make things up. It also blows things out of proportion. Saying they're like daughters is clearly a way to say they are protective of their characters. There's really nothing to get all ruffled up about here.

This game's animations and transitions are absolutely glorious. Clean, fluid and impactful at the same time. I feel like I could reach into the screen and help Hitomi grab Brad's leg, it's that tangible and precise.

Are they going after artists though? In the original article, they say they're fine with people making and monetising derivative works based on their products. They simply have standards when it comes to works that could damage their image or that use their own assets, which is pretty normal

I watched it, he's plain wrong in some instances, like "that's not how the game works" wrong, or going off word of mouth and press bs. It's clear as day he's played the games precisely to make the video.
Judging by your gross description of a very simple lose cam, I'm not sure it's a hindrance to you. But it's still double standards, SF has plenty of suggestive body language and skimpy clothes, and it got censored more than once by devs and tournaments both. All FGs wink at thirsty players.
The series *is* relatively tame. There's fan service, as with most FGs. A bit more, a bit less, nothing scandalous. I don't need the opinion of people who won't even touch them, bc they're afraid of boobs, or that folks will know they jerk themselves to sleep every night if they see them playing DOA
No more insane than the one about Bill Cosby, but I'm not even remotely concerned about the competitive scene, I didn't mention it at all and I don't believe it should be a privileged meter for the success of a fighting game, especially not DOA, despite it being a more than competent FG.
That's maybe the one and only example when a feature from Paradise made its way into the mainline series, and it was just characters chilling in a swimsuit, not that different from the poolside shots of Sarah as part of the Virtua Fighter CG Portrait series. Nobody will get sticky fingers from that.
Why would you be uncomfortable playing Dead or Alive 6? VV I get it, but DOA4? The only reason is prejudice towards the franchise as a whole, those games are tame.
People are just making up excuses. It's too technical, it's too old, it's too this and that. I played the beta as a new player (didn't play since VF2), and it didn't feel old at all, I was having the time of my life after a few minutes.
