This is a good thread from @bigblinkpdx.bsky.social (which is a great resource!). FWIW, self-reporting is #actually fine, because as @jeremiahhayden.bsky.social's article shows, public records are an excellent check on the self-reporting.
Washington state is about to ban noncompete agreements.
The state's House and Senate have both signed the bill, and it's headed to the governor's desk.
Washington would join a short list of states that prohibit almost all noncompetes.

The 2026 Immigrant Justice Package passed because communities organized, advocates pushed, & families refused to be ignored. This is what happens when we stand together for dignity, safety, & belonging.

Realizing how many white ppl within city hall/Portland assumed that BIPOC councilors sharing racial dynamics during the president vote was a Machiavellian strategy rather than earnest feedback is eye opening.
They assume strategy over earnestness because they do not approach others with sincerity.

One grim indicator of eroding workplace safety standards and enforcement: Amputations related to workplace injuries are on the rise.
Great coverage. On Friday, a crowd led by IMA-PNW and Defend Migrants Alliance-Oregon rallied at the Mexican Consulate to demand immediate attention and the release of Vancouver father, Jose Cruz Morales, one of the many ICE detainees suffering medical neglect!
"It would be a mistake to think" that potential corruption in the federal government "begins and ends with the presidentβor is unique to one party," @danw329.bsky.social wrote in @time.com. He urges Congress to advance reforms addressing corruption in all 3 branches.
Rebuilding Gaza on hold so that the US and Israel can dedicate their full attention to spreading destruction across the rest of the Middle East.
Sickening.
"Washington is one of nine states that does not currently levy a personal income tax. Voters have rebuffed such taxes 10 times since 1934, most recently in 2010.
"But Democrats this year see an opening to finally pass a tax aimed at the wealthiest residents."

They've now killed four people -- three U.S. citizens and a Mexican national. They've shot several more.
They've lied about all of them. They haven't shaded the truth. They haven't "misled" us. They've brazenly, knowingly lied while in possession of the evidence disproving their lies.
NIH leadership wants to strip worker's rights from the majority of scientists on its campuses.
But, the NIH does not get to say whether we are a union or not. We do, and we are no strangers to having to fight for our union. Time for a short history lesson. 1/n

The Trump DOJ has settled with Live Nation-Ticketmaster, but attorneys general across the country are continuing their case.
At least 26 states and the District of Columbia are still suing the ticketing monopoly.
Live Nation and Ticketmaster have settled with the DOJ. The trial was set for this week.
This settlement allows the live music monopoly to continue.
This cowardly and disappointing outcome only emphasizes the need for artists and music workers to build REAL power.
