that knowledge over many generations & slowly are rediscovering the secrets & tech until it culminated in a choice where they choose to wave off the lost civilization for another 100 year cycle because there are some bad humans ready to steal their tech as soon as they get back. Like... 3/4
Like the gummi bears are an ancient high-tech society that sealed themselves away in a different dimension because humans are became too aggressive & the gummi bears that we know originally were meant to return that civilization back when it was deemed safe but our gummi bears lost 2/4
Okay does anyone know the craziness that is the lore of the gummi bears? Was re-watching Crown of Candy and they made a joke about them. Ended up explaining the show to my fiancee. From memory though it went insanely deep. 1/4

I know it's not a route for everyone but Startplaying.games has a lot of opportunities to fill this need.
Just looked and (assuming it's the same Outgunned TTRPG) there are three listings up right now. With one that looks like it's about to be/is active and has slots for 2 more players.
Nothing beats that next day feeling after a session.
That feeling of time pressure on a weekend when you have stuff you want to get done really sucks.
On the plus side I'm getting better at ignoring it.
After a few years off, I'm participating in #PocketQuest again this year! My untitled game will be a spiritual successor to Planetary Tales, a d12 roll under game I made a few years ago that I am very proud of! It will be rewritten from the ground up with a more curated experience in mind.

Was curious for this game but after playing the demo I'm blown away!
It's the mapmaking game I've always yearned for! Step counting, landmarks, penciling on notes, complex geography. No joke I think I might cry this is so cool 😭. Stopped on island 5 to wait for launch

I straight out call any media around lawyers or murderers propaganda (closer of a comparison). Can it be? Yes, but in needs to be staged as such. I'm sorry if I'm rambling. I really am not trying to ragebait. I don't think you and I would agree but I was interested in your outlook.
The reason I asked is because whenever I here propaganda I hear "this needs to be taken down", which is why I asked.
I still think there is a lot more nuance for something to be propaganda personally. Like I wouldn't call the inclusion of LBGTQ characters in media is propaganda. Nor would-

I know this is implying censorship. Propaganda is just such a powerful word and I'm interested in the thought experiment if you'll indulge me.
I appreciate the thought you put behind this. I don't agree with a police show being by default copaganda but this frames the situation as an actual legitimate issue in my mind instead of a knee jerk reaction.

The biggest realization I've had game prep is that all the tips I read need to be adjusted to work for me and my table.
I love SlyFlourish.com style of "lazy" GM prep, but figuring out it's most useful to me if I add some additional details it doesn't call for took me WAY too long to get.

Don't want to go full worldbuilder on this. I'd burn myself out so fast 😅. Just need a few interesting "shallow" worlds that can be delved into deeper if the players choose. Maybe one is just a collection of spelljamming stations? A dinosaur one to? I'm all ears for any suggestions btw 😁

That #TTRPG #DnD group of mine that was discovering world secrets has had a few sessions... We're spelljamming now 😅.
Wasn't the goal but they found the option and took it. So glad I created a local Astral Sea map in the 30 mins before last session. Now gotta come up with some other worlds...

I'm sure if they explore it we will come up with some sort of tie in to what they're doing together. But with only the bare bones prepped I skipped the stress of game prep. Damn this feels good... What do I do with the rest of my night xD?

Think I hit a #GM #TTRPG milestone tonight. Prepping for a session, didn't know where to take it, decided to drop a random "dungeon" for them to explore.
No lead up, no long backstory, just a simple "dungeon" with an idea that interests me. Wonder if they bite or if I get to save it for later.

I sometimes like to get into the mindset of one of my campaign villains when I need to knuckle down at work (kind of indicated how I view business huh xD)
Only issue is it's very easy for my mind to start wandering back to campaign planning :/

Man that sounds useful. It's hard for me to imagine with music without definitive action being involved.
I've just learned to accept that the scene in my head may or may not ever come to fruition. The important thing is the game as a whole and the players.
