Yet the big takeaway from this analytical piece was negatively framed around “ a future government might change this”. It’s not about bigging anyone up it’s about fairness. As a Guardian reader of 50 years I don’t see that anymore.
In isolation it’s just a low level moan about a genuine attempt to improve a terrible system. Combine it with you and the rest of the papers output it undermines a Labour Government and makes a hard right replacement much more likely. You will have something to moan about then.
And you think that you and your colleagues are being “fair” ? Bloody hell you are a long way down the rabbit hole.
I wonder whether the penny will ever drop for Harris et al that the thing they fear most is made much more likely by their constant negativity towards a Labour government? Good thrown away on the altar of perfection.
Christ it must be good if that’s the worst the Guardian can muster.
