A 1 hour (or so) pencil study.
She’s so good. She strips away all the cloying sentimentality of 19th century portraiture without stripping out the heart. She does to the figure, to me, what Paul Nash does to the Dymchurch coastline in the ‘20s. There’s always a strong sense design and form.
So that’s that, right? We don’t have to put up with endless drivel about how expensive it is to save the planet abd ourselves ever again? Cool.

Having my studio wall this full hasn't happened in years, and there are some good reasons for that but what if I see this as the end of the beginning, just establishing a phase of productivity that still has room to grow. Its all about what happens next.
