There is great value as an artist to be relentlessly curious about other techniques & mediums.
In that spirit, I took my homegirl Alma to a #graffiti art class today with @grafftours (IG) & got to take home my canvas. So here is my first ever graffiti piece,

My first painting returning to the art form after decades was actually a finger painting! I had a bunch of paint, but no brushes, so fingers, q tips and a tooth brush was how I made this happen!

The flag itself (which was illegal to fly due to the gag law) represents:
Red stripes = blood spilled fighting for #independence
White stripes = peace & victory
Blue triangle = the blue waters of the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico & Caribbean Sea & the sky
Star = the island itself

For anchor, I used aluminum foil, the chain I made using a hot glue gun. There are real shells & a real crab claw glued onto the canvas, & the green gravel is crushed eggshells.
