I can not WAIT until he starts buying them pants.
This was great fun and a real timewarp back to the β80s Liverpool music scene for me. Pennyβs book is great.
Youβll never guess which country moved their mine sweepers out of the Middle East a month ago.
Rejected McCarthy Song Titles: an occasional series.
there is an extended bit on the sopranos about how everybody laughs at tonyβs stupid fucking jokes because heβs the boss and a bully and he finally realizes it

Christoph Grote-Beverborg
Iβm very sad to hear that Christoph Grote-Beverborg has died.
He mastered and cut vinyl at Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin and would etch the runout groove with- CGB @ D&M
He was such a generous, funny guy who deeply loved music and the physics of sound.
Actual LOL
Like the neocons, Trumpβs neo-neocons repeatedly invoke the Westβs complacency and unwillingness to defend its own values, a frailty that can be rectified only through the ritual use of military force against weaker targets. The conservative writer Jonah Goldberg once articulated what he called the βLedeen Doctrine,β after the neoconservative Michael Ledeen, which was: βEvery ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show the world we mean business.β Despite Trumpβs rejection of George W. Bush, MAGA bears many similarities to the right-wing politics of that eraβa fetishization of violence and torture, the treatment of opposition as treasonous, a disdain for due process, and an anti-Muslim bigotry at odds with fundamental American principles.
Pundits loved telling you about Trump's "anti-interventionism" because it seemed contrarian and interesting, but he always represented neoconservatism's worst impulses shorn of any moral pretense or concern www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...
Two photos. The first shows Catturd tweeting: Name one US inspired regime change that hasn't ended in absolute disaster The next tweet shows him posting an AI illustration of Khamenei turned into a pile of dust. It says "I'm eliminated."
Two tweets. The first shows Laura Loomer promoting her show, where she says "A message has been sent that we are not interested in going back to the way politics were prior to Donald Trump, prior to 2016. We don't want warhawks. We don't want any more Neocons. We want American First. Period. End of discussion." The next tweet says: Today is a great day. Our military is amazing. @PeteHegseth is an absolute killer. Now you see why the Deep State worked so hard against him. Itβs great having a Sec War who has Infidel literally tattooed on his body. He actually gets it. God bless him.
Two tweets. The first shows Will Chamberlain tweeting: The Republican Party is no longer the party of regime change and endless wars. If you want to be its standard-bearer that is a non-negotiable position. The next tweet shows him posting "Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead." The tweet has a USA flag attached.
Two tweets. The first shows Gunther Eagleman tweeting: "Warmonger Lindsey Graham just rushed to Fox to advocate for U.S. involvement as soon as he could. He is also pushing for a US-backed regime change in Iran. I would like to renominate Graham to get a one-way ticket to the frontlines of every war he wants America involved in." There's an attached video of Graham speaking. The next shows Eagleman tweeting: UST IN! President Trump is HARD AT WORK all weekend after the massive strikes on Iran! Heβs already on the phone with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte! Trump is a machine!" There's an attached video of a news segment about the war in Iran.

I've been told she's actually back in the UK and is getting all of this second-hand from friends who are still there, but I haven't seen or read anything to corroborate this one way or the other.
Thicker than shit in the neck of a bottle. Couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.

Image depicts the front cover of the New Musical Express, dated January 24th, 1976. The cover image itself is a black & white shot of a man with collar-length dark hair, wearing jeans & a plaid western shirt. His back is to the camera and he looks into a mirror which reflects a much older man with grey hair, wearing the same shirt. Headlines down the left-hand read; "Is your fave rave rock star old enough to be your father?", "Is rock 'n' roll an old man's game?" and "We name the aged men." In the upper right-hand corner is a banner running diagonally from upper centre down to the right, and in black text on a red background it reads "Box office concert details: Neil Young, Rod, Purple, Sedaka".
He was a genuinely great pop songwriter. When he caught his second wind during the 70s, it seemed as if he was never off the radio.
Then there's this NME cover from a little over 50 years ago. Here we are, with punk about six months away, and a forthcoming Neil Sedaka tour is still front page news.
Kegseth's long-anticipated transition into a real-life Buck Turgidson appears to finally be complete.
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed.
This is pretty bold stuff from somebody who got 552 more votes than Sir Oink A-Lot.
I love this live-in-the-studio clip. They look like a bunch of construction workers who wandered into the studio from outside and decided to mess around on the instruments for a while. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wESy...
It'd be nice if Reform's coverage now shrivelled away to something in proportion to their actual popularity with voters. Since there's as much likelihood of that happening as Morgan McSweeney needing to use a food bank, I'd settle for a bit less excitable chatter about Farage as PM-in-waiting.
I see "tacking right" is as effective a strategy for an ostensibly left-leaning party as ever. People will say what they like about the so-called "crank left", but there's clearly an appetite for *something* close to what they're offering. Perhaps Labour should consider some sort of response to it.
Really sorry to hear this. Nothing prepares you for the loss of a parent. I hope you find the strength and support you need to get through this.
Today in Build A Big Prison On An Island, Put All The Techbros In The Prison, Nuke The Island.
I agree. Last time I was in London about eight months ago, I happened to be down Oxford Street on the Saturday afternoon, and it was bubbling like the last weekend before Christmas if it was miraculously stress-free and good-humoured. This will be a shot in the arm for all concerned.
A fake op-ed headline in the raving mad style of The Telegraph's Allister Heath, someone whose own family would have walled him up 150 years ago. The headline reads: The public will never forgive the establishment for the disaster of beans on a fry-up.

I lived in London for 20 years during which I used the Tube daily, and it was often a nightmare. The Overground & the Elizabeth Line has meant a big improvement.
Berliners give the BVG lots of shit, but I like it. Being able to depend on public transport is a key "quality of life" issue for me.
This was flagged as "rude" for some reason, in case anyone wondered how giving someone a clear, simple & direct answer gets treated on here.
I prefer to run it full too, but if it sits there half/three-quarters full for more than a day because we've ordered takeaway, I'll pull the trigger early.
I load the dishwasher in our house b/c I'm a bit OCD about loading it in a specific (and imo effective) way, but the question I agonise over is that of the minimum load. What's the etiquette w/r/t how full it should be before switching it on? Always full? Half? Two-thirds?
(I am pro-rinsing, btw)
Taken from Warschauer BrΓΌcke?
Excellent recommendations, as usual. Even in its bowdlerised original cut, The Big Red One is an all-time great WWII movie.
