It'd be nice if Reform's coverage now shrivelled away to something in proportion to their actual popularity with voters. Since there's as much likelihood of that happening as Morgan McSweeney needing to use a food bank, I'd settle for a bit less excitable chatter about Farage as PM-in-waiting.

I see "tacking right" is as effective a strategy for an ostensibly left-leaning party as ever. People will say what they like about the so-called "crank left", but there's clearly an appetite for *something* close to what they're offering. Perhaps Labour should consider some sort of response to it.

I agree. Last time I was in London about eight months ago, I happened to be down Oxford Street on the Saturday afternoon, and it was bubbling like the last weekend before Christmas if it was miraculously stress-free and good-humoured. This will be a shot in the arm for all concerned.

I lived in London for 20 years during which I used the Tube daily, and it was often a nightmare. The Overground & the Elizabeth Line has meant a big improvement.

Berliners give the BVG lots of shit, but I like it. Being able to depend on public transport is a key "quality of life" issue for me.

This was flagged as "rude" for some reason, in case anyone wondered how giving someone a clear, simple & direct answer gets treated on here.

I prefer to run it full too, but if it sits there half/three-quarters full for more than a day because we've ordered takeaway, I'll pull the trigger early.

I load the dishwasher in our house b/c I'm a bit OCD about loading it in a specific (and imo effective) way, but the question I agonise over is that of the minimum load. What's the etiquette w/r/t how full it should be before switching it on? Always full? Half? Two-thirds?
