You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Let us use that power - let us all unite."

Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men!

The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.

The clip in the song isn't the exact speech, as it chops and changes a little, but it definitely works.

Thread:

"To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.

Including the Charlie Chaplin quote* in the song really works so well:

Keep seeing posters around for Helmet - they're doing a 30th anniversary "Betty" show and I am definitely unhappy that I'll be missing out XD

I wonder if one partial explanation of the term is that it drifted across from game dev?

*Sometimes* I can estimate the vague generation of a visual artist or (someone writing about vis arts) when they use "rendering" vs "shading" or just "details".

Obviously, I can get this wrong - but it's always interesting to me to see language changing while I'm actually aware of it.

Preliminary concept for the Cataclysm expansion of World of Warcraft featuring the dragon Deathwing emerging explosively from the ocean as waves rock the surface. Fire erupts white hot at its mouth, tapering to red and blue at its tip. Burning contrails arc like flares from the water. A massive billowing cloud of smoky orange builds in the background. Water drips from its wings as they spread wide colored like magma between structural ribs. A reptilian fin of the same orange runs underneath its stocky neck.

Some people talk about our leaders being 'pressured' or 'wedged' or 'blackmailed' and for me I don't think so.

I think it's way simpler - bad people are in charge and they *want* to do bad things.

(In light of this reminder, I have to try to focus on helping those around me as best I can).

It's World Book Day, and I do have books in the world, so, you know, I think you're legally required to buy them. I think that's how it works.
