Anyone else notice the tendency to omit from speech:
A. Verbs of being (is/are/am)
and/or
B. The 1st-person, self-referential noun (“I” but not “me)
Examples:
“Done working”
“Be there soon”
“Gonna/Finna do that”
What’s going on there, aside from efficiency? Does it come off lazy or disrespectful?
