In German folklore, snow was gray and asked the colourful flowers for their hues, but they refused. The snowdrop, however, took pity and shared its pure white colour. In return, the snow let the snowdrop bloom first each year, signalling their pact, and rebirth and hope.

Dr. @poojaswali.bsky.social sampled dental pulp from British human remains ๐ฆท from the Iron Age (2,200 years ago) and Medieval (700 ya) for genetic evidence of the bacterium Borrelia duttonii, cause of Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever. It was louse-borne in the Iron Age and tick-borne in the Medieval.
