Thanks to a record-breaking budget settlement from the SNP Scottish Government, proposed cuts can be rejected and investments can be made in our schools, our communities and the growth of our local economy.
South Lanarkshire Council's annual budget setting process is almost complete and your SNP Councillors have been working hard with other parties over the past few months to deliver on the priorities that matter to you.
Pleased that @rossclarksnp.bsky.social and I got this amendment passed.
The UK Gov is trampling over Scotlandβs devolution settlement, and trampling over the work local government's being doing to empower our communities.
This top-down nonsense doesn't wash with folk anymore, and it's not on π₯

Gorgeous journey π
See you soon, Aberdeen!
School bus update π
As you'll hear from the clip, the Labour Administration pulled a last minute amendment out the bag which not only removed any reference to the deep concerns of parents, carers, and pupils, but is as clear as mud π€·ββοΈ
Our SNP Group will always be on the side of affected families.
The latest school transport update ππ
We have tried to get these safe walking route guidelines reviewed before, but have been denied because the process was ongoing.
Now these ridiculous bus cuts have been implemented, that excuse has gone. Follow the link to watch Wednesday's Full Council live.
A mug of coffee and a slice of cake on a desk.
All @snp.org AGMs should have cake - it should be in the constitution.
Thanks Larkhall SNP for your hospitality πππ°
We have submitted an urgent business request to discuss Labourβs cuts to school transport at the Executive Committee meeting this morning.
We demand that Councillors have a chance to scrutinise the final details of the cuts before they are introduced - this may be the last opportunity.

A field of Highland coos and calves in the sunshine at Pollok Park, Glasgow.
My daughter, well her legs, lying in a field of daffodils in front of Pollok House, Glasgow.
Do you know those coos are on their holidays, kids?
They've got a wee calf π₯ π
Baby-coo spotting in Pollok with at least half the population of the central belt. Gorgeous day for it π
A tiny, round crocheted chick in yellow and orange yarn, with a pink flower on its head.
Crochet's rapidly becoming *a thing* for my youngest just now. Good morning from my new wee pal π₯
What a friend, support, and inspiration she was to all of us. Rest in peace, Christina, you are going to be so missed π
And Tiffany style - such a chore to scrub, scrub, scrub that foil down over the wobbly bits. Worth it though π€©
Indy π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ, pretty coloured glass, and a cat? *Follow*
Bratcat is stunning π»
More than pretty nice! You've got some tricky cuts and nice soldering there ππ
That's gorgeous - I love the textured glass and the twisted wire edge. Great job π
This popped into my head again tonight after *everything* in the Spring Statement, and parents in my ward learning today that 88% of weans at one school are losing their school bus thanks to the Lab/Lib Administration.
An evergreen clip π₯
This headline is misleading. Reeves has not been "forced" to find an additional Β£1.6 billion in cuts to benefits. She has CHOSEN to impose more cuts on benefits because she refuses to raise taxes on the wealthiest.

π Two stunning gains for the SNP from Labour in Glasgow Southside Central, and Glasgow North East this morning.
Big congratulations to Cllr Mhairi Hunter and Cllr Donna McGill, and their hard-working SNP teams on the ground!
And it's a double! Cllr Donna McGill π₯³ Glasgow North East - @snp.org gain π
Cllr Mhairi Hunter π₯³ The newest member of the @glasgowsnp.bsky.social group for Southside Central. Well done Mhairi and team ππ
Huge congratulations to Cllr Carlin! ππ
Fantastic SNP win - well done to Mike Carlin and our team on a stunning victory in Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh. π
Our budget will include proposals to:
πͺ΄ Reverse Labourβs policy of charging Β£45 for garden waste uplifts
β»οΈ Reintroduce one free bulk uplift per year for every household
On Wednesday the SNP Group will present an alternative budget for South Lanarkshire.
Our budget will focus on keeping council tax low, avoiding cuts to services and provide additional investment in key council areas such as Education, Roads, Social Care, Housing and Climate Sustainability.
