Pecksniff: Greens get it, but have the others lost the plot?
In which Mr Pecksniff lays before his readers for their approval certain observations and speculations reflecting on the political life
Greens win Gorton & Denton. It’s now OK to vote Green – and win * Tories slump to 1.9%. Once titans, now irrelevant * Reform officers allegedly replaced by ex-Tories. Restore delighted.

If our media wasn’t populated with indolent wankers, we’d never have voted for Brexit in the first place. The public ignorance and political dishonesty that discredit that ‘decision’ have media failure stamped all over them.
And now they all dodge accountability while we deal with the dismal fallout.

To a current Cabinet secretary from a former one
The New York Times reports that the Department of Homeland Security has sent Google, Meta, and other media corporations subpoenas for the names on accounts that criticize ICE enforcement. The department wants to identify Americans who oppose what it’s doing. I’ll save them time.

The UK was declared measles free in 2017.
Vaccine programs completely eliminated it.
Since then, pro sickness conspiracy theorists and anti science idiots have enabled its return.

Enough with the outrage theatre.
If Reform stands for ordinary working people, why did all their MPs vote against the Workers’ Rights Bill?
You can’t wedge immigration into that one. It’s just the record.

If you want to know what Reform will be like in government, look at the councils we control. At Worcestershire County Council, for example, we want to increase council tax by 10% and are begging the government for a £71m bail out, otherwise we face effective bankruptcy.

Churchwarden linked to foreign-born billionaire is behind £200k Reform gift
The man whose firm made the donations will not discuss where the money came from, nor his ties to wealthy Farage allies who may not hold citizenship
This is what’s known as dodgy as fuck…
Farage is in hock to murky foreign billionaires, taking their money to prioritise their interests if they buy him power. He’s exploiting people’s racism and anger to pretend he’s on their side. But he’s already sold them out.

This is very good on just how trapped we are by the geopolitical weakness, anti-immigrant rhetoric and trade dysfunction of Brexit.
By not changing the Tory record, for fear of alienating Reform voters, Labour - and so the country - is hamstrung by strategic idiocy and populist cruelty.

Why TF would you ‘give Reform a go’?
Yes. They represent change. But not good change. Not the change people want.
This lot would torch everything we value and rely upon (NHS, public services, our rights, protections…)
in an absolute frenzy of corruption, prejudice and uselessness.
FFS. Please don’t.

The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.
It leads on "sharply contested narratives"
It has a dramatic skew to the US government
It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue

Picture of a Farage Football shirt with the dodgy ‘made in Britain’ logo
Headline: Reform UK merchandise does not have permission for its 'Made in Britain' logo
Extracts;
Reform UK has been using a "Made in Britain" logo on a range of promotional football shirts without permission from either ofthe two UK "Made in Britain" trademark schemes, Thei Paper has found.
The shirts sold by Nigel Farage's party range in price from £39 to £359, with funds going to Reform UK. Three styles have been released as merchandise, including a recently launched black and gold shirt signed by Farage himself. They are prominently stamped with the official-looking logo…
It is strikingly similar to the logos connected to MadeinBritain.co and the registered trademark that belongs to MadeinBrtain.org, which were both set up with the aim of protecting British manufacturing.
Both organisations require companies to pass an audit in order to be accredited and gain permission to use their logo. Use of the trademark from MadeinBritain.org, a not-for-profit organisation, is stricter and a licence fee of at least S195 must be paid annually.
Misleading a customer to believe an item has a level of accreditation is potentially a criminal offence.
A spokesperson for Reform UK said: "The logo displayed was materially different and simply denotes that this product is made in the UK”
The main supplier for Reform's shirts does manufacture them in the
UK, The i Paper understands.
One of Reform's
"Original Edi-
tion" tops purchased by The i Paper featured an address for a Leicester-based manufacturer.
Upon visiting the site, the address was not a factory but a small office where one person works.
A spokesperson for Reform said:
"Each and every Reform FC shirt is made in the UK.”
God honestly. Doesn’t this just sum up Reform. And their plastic patriotism.
Can’t even give a straight answer or follow the rules on their unbelievably naff merch.
So on brand.
Oh well. You sell or wear one of these, you’ve told us all we need to know about you.
