Turtle Creek mayor @adamforgieforpa.bsky.social is running against @repsummerlee.bsky.social in the May Democratic primary, saying he is the more centrist candidate. Yesterday he says a pic of him with the American flag was photoshopped into a Nazi salute flyer posted on telephone polls
Enjoying my chat with Rob Pratte on @kdkaradio.bsky.social ... One more segment to go!

Everyone has an opinion, so why not mine. Here are my thoughts on the demise of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Feel free to share yours.

In Pittsburgh, crowd awaits announcement that @governor.pa.gov Josh Shapiro is running for reelection as governor. No surprise there!
No surprise. The 1:00 p.m. inauguration of @coreyoconnorpa.bsky.social as mayor of Pittsburgh is not quite on time.
I've not had pleasure of meeting Tony Dokoupil, new anchor for @cbseveningnews.bsky.social. But I like what he says here...he deserves a chance to demonstrate that he means it. I hope the Truth comes first for him, not MAGA, left wingers, Trump, the Ellisons or Bari Weiss. Let's hope Tony succeeds.
Happy New Year, my friends! And happy Feast of the Circumcision, a Christian holy day of obligation (now more focused on Mary), noting Jesus' circumcision. Fortunately, per the Gospels, Jesus freed the rest of us from that religious obligation. Have a great day!
Merry Christmas on this 3rd Day of Christmas! Remember! Don't take down your Christmas tree or your decorations until the Magi arrive!
We were among the last passengers on Monday night to use the "old" train and landside terminal. Lots of memories. Of course, I remember the much older Greater Pittsburgh Airport. Several people asked if I was doing a story for KDKA-TV | CBS Pittsburgh. I had to remind them I was retired...sort of!
If you're looking for election analysis on Pennsylvania's Supreme Court judicial retention election (YES or NO) or the race for Mayor of Pittsburgh between Corey O'Connor and Tony Moreno, tune in to KDKA-TV at 5:30 & 6:30 -- and don't forget the 8:00 pm election special Tuesday night on KDKA+.
If circumcision really contributed to autism, why is autism on the rise in USA when newborn circumcision has dropped below 50% per a recent Johns Hopkins study?
people.com/circumcision...
Yikes. RFK Jr. says a study links circumcision to an increased rate of autism, focusing on use of Tylenol. Yes, there's a Danish study that shows circumcised boys are 46% more likely to be autistic than intact boys, but link is based on correlation not causation and there's no mention of Tylenol.
Political violence is unAmerican. Whether one ignites a governor's residence or kidnaps a governor, or attempts to assassinate a president candidate, or kills a judge, lawmaker, or political advocate like Charlie Kirk, that conduct must be denounced by all. Can we also stop dehumanizing each other?
Don't miss this excellent KDKA-TV CBS documentary on the assassination attempt of Donald Trump one year ago. It features a number of us, including yours truly, who covered the events of that day and its aftermath. Share your thoughts a year later!

It was a great honor & pleasure for me to join @politicspa.bsky.social @steveulrich.bsky.social on "Voices of Reason" to discuss many political topics from a Western PA perspective. Hope you enjoy it.

If you saw these four dudes heading your way, what would you do?
Does what President Trump has done in Los Angeles and the assault on Senator Padilla make you more likely or less likely to attend one of the local NO KINGS events -- or had you no intention of going in the first place?

Details, please. Contrary to original Nippon acquisition deal, did President Donald Trump negotiate a true partnership where Nippon Steel does not take over USSteel, but rather Americans run the company without Japanese veto? Perhaps we'll find out soon.
Interesting history on original meaning of "birthright citizenship."

On this Memorial Day weekend, we fly our flags to remember the service men and women who gave their lives to protect this country. Over 1.1 million Americans have lost their lives in wars since the Revolution. We honor them!
Apparently a number of southern states still recognize Confederate Memorial Day, noting the 258,000 Confederate soldiers who died defending secession and slavery. Monday was that day in some states. The Memorial Day we celebrate in May honors U.S. military dead. It began right after the Civil War.
Whether Catholic or not, if you were a Cardinal who could vote in the conclave to elect a successor to Pope Francis, what kind of Pope would you like to see?
Wait. According to Pete Hegseth, our naval cadets are allowed to read Adolf Hitler but not Maya Angelou? Is Hegseth really that unAmerican that he favors Nazi writers over Americans? I wonder how the White House press secretary will spin this one.
Where do our local PA Members of Congress stand on banning stock purchases for themselves while in office? Please speak up and report, Mike, Guy, Chris & Summer!
