Pretty sure Steam encourages these types of reviews with the "funny" rating other users can give them. No doubt they would do it anyway, but I do wonder how much of an impact that button has.
Low effort reviews in general are annoying and not very helpful. The positive ones are slightly more useful, and at least they don't turn anybody off. Not like I need an elaborate detailed essay on what I did wrong. But "game sucks, runs like shit" already tells me more than a lame joke does.

That could explain why they charge so much. You may need essential items to save the world or whatever, but those shopkeepers still have rent, food to buy, and other essentials to pay for. So they still need your money. What good is saving the world for them if they die of hunger or something.
This is an insane deal. This game is absolutely amazing. Even though it's well loved by many I still feel like it deserves more love than it has received. Shame about the story, but everything else is top notch.
