Waking up from winter

Down to the river this morning to greet the ducks after sunrise, not much green left on the landscape these days aside from the parsley in the garden

I was late planting my cosmos this year but I did it anyway. It was so bittersweet to hold their frost touched blooms as I began clearing the gardens for winter❤️‍🩹 Gardening lends itself to gaining grief literacy, something this world could use a whole lot more of
