During the period of closure Thames Water raised concerns for consequential damage to the carriageway, requiring further investigation and Thames Waterβs closure of both Carlisle Rd and Overdown Rd has been extended until end of 30 December by way of a section 14 Notice valid for up to 21 days (3/7)
A temporary connection to an alternate main has temporarily restored the majority of customer services while additional teams have initiated repairs to the damaged main, under deep excavation works, impacting the carriageway and the junction with Carlisle Road. (2/7)
A CLOSURE of OVERDOWN ROAD (near Carlisle Road) by Thames Water was initially imposed under their statutory powers on Saturday 20 December for safety of the public and operatives using plant within the carriageway following a burst on a clean water main that left customers without water. (1/7)
Openreach will be excavating on Rissington Cl between #3 and the junction @ Overdown Rd 2moro to Tuesday 16th to lay a new duct. This will involve the closure of a footway, so there will be alternative pedestrian provision.
