Bought OTD in 1969: future classic, all time great pop/ rock album. Tunes, heaviness, concept masked by humour. Faves: the title track, Afterglow, Long Agos, Song of a Baker, Lazy Sunday, Mad John, the Journey

Bought OTD in 1972: very listenable soundtrack to an unmemorable film. Includes Indian drones, louche jazz and - my favourite track - Party Seacombe, a wonderful drifting summer of 67 instrumental thatβs the brother to the Beatlesβ Flying

RIP Kenny Morris: original punk, Banshee drummer extraordinaire. I knew him well in the Banshees and was in touch with him recently about his memoir. Which I hope will be published. God bless you Kenny
Bought OTD in 1969: one of the first albums I ever bought. The whole thing is pretty great but I keep on coming back to the spooky ones: The End, End of the Night, The Crystal Ship

That looks great - thanks!
Good point. I think itβs half sincere half tongue in cheek - Ray having his cake and eating it. I do find the title track slightly irritating
Bought OTD in 1972: under a quid, the early seventies were a great time to find sixties lps cheap. Not my favourite Kinks album - thatβs Face to Face - as the harking back is a bit cloying, but some terrific songs: Walter, Johnny Thunder, Big Sky, Starstruck, plus the rock out Wicked Annabella
Bought OTD in 1970: my favourite Who album by miles. Fast funny sharp and on occasion, very psychedelic. Big hitters about (Armenia, Mary Anne, Odorono, Miles) but special appreciation for Our Love Was (those guitar parts) and Relax, proper vortex psych
