There's nothing better than meal planning! I can eat the same thing over and over (wife can't) so often we end up with leftovers that I end up eating for breakfast

Last of the smoked turkey from the freezer turned into a pot pie. Peas, celery, carrots, kholrabi plus herbs on the inside with a can of cream of jalapeño. Store bought puff pastry.

Open to ideas for a homemade version of a “cream of” soup to lose the processed stuff.

My BIL was a radarman (back in the day of the "waterfall") on a nuclear missile boat. Said it was great. Of course he's only 5'6" and a buck 20 sopping wet, so didn't have an issue with space 😂. Still says he'd do it again though.

It was pretty damn good. I’m sorry to have missed the charro beans and the turkey. Today was a drive day and we didn’t get there until 1345 - I expected them to be out of something, but the turkey? Dammit!

I’m kicking myself for forgetting to mention that they threw in that little chunk of burnt ends for free!

Lunch at Sunbird BBQ, Longview TX - another Tx Monthly Top 50 Joint. Brisket 🤌, sausage 💯, street corn 🤤. Sauce a little sweet but good. Sold out of ribs, turkey and charro beans by the time we got there ☹️.

Tried to watch some Olympic hockey - apparently my brain doesn't work fast enough to figure it out

Walked the trash to the dumpsters, there was some woman there saying they were full and she'd take it to the other dumpsters. Told her I'd take care of it and heaved it into the back of the dumpster, telling her I didn't want her going through my trash. F'n weirdo got offended.

Mild preference for SEA, mostly to piss off some really good friends who are rabidly obnoxious Pats fans, but beyond that I don't really care who wins

We ended up making a spinach-artichoke dip and eating that we some of our sourdough. Looks like it's going to be sausage & onion pizza later.

Slight preference for SEA but I'm not going to let it ruin the day if the Pats pull out a win. Just gotta savor this last one before the dry spell!

Yeah, we quit going to SB parties long ago ... it's just impossible to watch the game. We've got sausage, artichokes, and mushrooms on hand ... not sure if we're going to make pizza or quesadillas - we'll figure that out later
