@joeabercrombie.com Recently read and really enjoyed the First Law trilogy! I've wondered how Glokta can be so clever but not know why he does what he does. Then I think about all of us, and most of us probably don't. For him it seems to me a case of 'hurt people hurting people.' Great interiority.

Just got my new proof, this time in the matte finish. I had all but settled on a glossy cover, but thought I should see how the matte looks. So glad I did! The matte suits the book and the cover design so much better. It's like the pages belong within it instead of just being protected by it.

“Undo” now feels so modern that I second‑guessed myself while editing yesterday. I checked the etymology, certain I remembered it from Shakespeare, and was delighted to find it's far older than that; comfortably period‑worthy after all. My characters now breathe safe in the face of their undoing.
