Insurrectionist Brunch: Trumpists plotted to deploy military on U.S. soil Before the 2024 election, a cadre of MAGA loyalists met over brunch to plot ways for Trump to use the military domestically.

This is just astonishingly great reporting.

All of the crises the White House has claimed over the last 14 months were planned in advance. All of them.

And however much contempt you have for media outlets who reverently relayed Trump's claim to have no relation to Project 2025, it isn't enough.

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.

Read this whole interview. This woman, Nadia Schadlow, sounds like she has a fourth-grade knowledge of the world.

THIS is the intellectual right?
At best she’s lying for Trump. But she sounds like a chump and a dunderhead.

It is also an indictment of Hudson and Hoover.

Back in the day Ebert got ribbed (by me too) as a glib popularizer but he had aesthetics, and was perhaps the first popular critic so endowed. Also he wrote very well. alicublog.blogspot.com/2004/04/eloq...

Most liberals have no idea that the NY Times is a problem. Liberal/Dem leaders rarely criticize the Times (or any media) so people assume it’s okay. We have a serious media literacy problem on the left.

Welcome to Mamdani's New York
By Abe Greenwald
It was clear from the start of Zohran Mamdani's campaign that the biggest danger of a Mamdani mayoralty would not stem from his interest in unworkable socialist schemes and nonsensical policy pledges. Those would either fail to launch or just fail. The city has suffered through and recovered from all manner of bad policy before.
The greatest danger was and is that Mamdani, merely by virtue of being elected, would mark an official change in the culture of New York City.
Since college, he's spent his life defending terrorist causes that are antithetical to the West, the United States, and New York City. If he were elected, we'd become a city that sympathizes with and welcomes those who hate Jews, Americans, Israel, and this country. Given that he was elected by slightly more than 50 percent of voters, New York would be a city at war with itself.

They're scared shitless of his popularity and that of his program.

That's why they're supporting the current Ogles-era conservative idea that Muslim Americans are only provisional citizens who can be held responsible for any extremist act internal and external.

That's about the same as the Oklahoma City bombing toll, of course our government is now controlled by a bunch of racist Turner Diaries enthusiasts and insurretionists who would have probably pardoned Timothy McVeigh.
