Life has been busy lately! I had the amazing experience of being an advocate for #TRIOprograms in DC. Sharing my story with senators was a great experience. Without TRIO I would not be where I am today.
Growing human proximal tubule cells is always so interesting. These fuzzy areas are called domes. They form when the cells are actively transporting water!

Today was the last day of the semester for the forensic capstone students! They each took the stand for mock court room testimony. I had a great semester with them and I’m excited to see where they go!

For my research I grow RPTEC/TERT1 cells, which are immortalized human proximal tubule cells. Then I grow UROtsa arsenite transformed cells (pictured below) which are immortalized cells from the human urothelium! Using arsenite makes this a great model for bladder cancer.
