Gosh that President Trump really does think “outside the box.”

Regular Brussels visitors, I suggest a stop at Kiosque Café, a brasserie in nearby Forest. Lovely garden in the back and in the middle of an authentic neighborhood. So shake up your tired itinerary. BTW, of no small consequence- Zinnebir on tap is €3.50. maps.app.goo.gl/3rkHgpBEQsAK...
Guess you were wise to hang on to your knickers. “…what these chefs do is unlikely to have real impact on the terrifyingly vast food security challenges the planet faces, as a combination of population growth and climate change wreaks havoc on the global food store.”
Artists gonna art, rain or shine (Brussels).
Perhaps of interest: “Once primarily associated with the production of life-saving drugs like insulin, precision fermentation has found a new purpose in addressing one of humanity’s most pressing challenges: sustainably feeding a growing global population.”

I would watch Colin Firth telegraph the phone book.
It’s not fair to insult a tomato like that.
Absolutely agree. In Mustard sauce is the only style of sardines to eat with your fingers, on the Tube (or anywhere, frankly). Exemption- Fishmongers may eat sardines any way, any where, any time.
Second stop in Antwerp was the Fine Arts Museum. I’m speechless (gob stopped, if you will) by the magnificence of this place. And, free admission with the €69 (crazy good value) Belgium Museum Card.
Dateline Antwerp- Started at Plantin-Moretus Museum. Twenty-five minute walk from the train station. Frankly, skip this one unless you have the Belgium Museum Card and/or love rooms full of alloyed lead type, shelved, caged books, and treacherous wooden stairs.
I was at Brussels-Midi station, so have no idea why they gassed marchers in the Arts-Loi area. www.vrt.be/vrtnws/en/20...
Love it!
Estimated that 50,000-70,000 people will participate.
National protest by unions. Today, in Brussel.
If they divided that city into eighths, I believe they could house more people. I’m no engineer, but I’ve ordered many pizzas in my time.
The photo with the lone figure could be, absent the business sign, an oil painting out of the Belle Époque era.
Eurail pass for us North Americans. I buy the Benelux for spring trips I make to the Low Countries and I buy the 33 country pass for my summer travels. The passes can be a real cost savings. But, what they save you on, immeasurably, is avoiding ticket machines, while pivoting on a Flâneur’s whim.
Operation Epic Furry.
Day trip from Brussels to chilly and rainy Köln. After a wet walk across the bridges, I tucked into Kölsch, hot soup and wurst at Brauerei Pfaffen.
Hard to believe stars of this caliber actually dine out where regular people eat. And, to order a steak, no less! Article says the waitstaff were excited. Rightfully so!
Nothing more Belgian than these.
Worth every Belgian Franc.
Post-museum refreshment at Dulle Griet.
Ghent Fine Arts Museum, today. Very nice exhibition.
“Uncle Sam needs your help again…” Sixty years on and the government hasn’t learned a thing. RIP, Country Joe.
Even Yellow is being yellow in this light. n.b. I’ve spent the last 40 days and 40 nights wandering beneath the overcast skies of New England. So, to now find the sun, I feel like Ponce de León, what with that whole “Fountain of Youth” conceit he had going.
Magical.
In Brussels, building façades are popping out of their skins in today’s sunshine.
Indeed.
John F. Kennedy?
