It is not true that the adaptations have to paid by the disabled person - in most cases it is covered by the scheme.
Unfortunately there are people who are taking advantage of the scheme - I know as I have firsthand experience of it.
Not true. Whilst the majority are deserving, a minority are not. I have firsthand experience of this.
I normally am in agreement with you, but the system is being abused (by some), especially with regard to mental health conditions and people are turning a blind eye. We need to ensure only those in true need are being supported.
Clearly I didnβt mean all parents.
@theguardian.com - The title states the cuts affect the most severely disabled but goes on to say itβs those affected by conditions such as autism. The current system is being abused by parents that have realised they can get their children βdiagnosedβ, leaving less support for those in actual need.
βSince nobody voted to Make America Poor Again, maybe ordinary Americans will soon tire of this. But Brexit showed that votersβ reaction to realising theyβve been had is often to double down, because itβs too painful to think they have brought this on themselves.β
Spot on Gaby. #trumptarifftandrums

Scientists developed the first climate models in the late 1960s (for which the Nobel Prize in physics was recently awarded!).
How have these models held up against what happened in the real world after they were published? Surprisingly well, it turns out:
Question: As both gas fires and wood burners have environmental impacts, what is the best alternative? Are there electric options that donβt look like naff 70s relics?
You are close to the red area though?
Why is climate action so often thwarted by misinformation?

UK parliament voted today on electoral reform - narrowly in favour of proportional representation for the first time. Thereβs a petition on having a referendum on this: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...
Did it last week. Canβt manage multiple social media accounts..Iβd get nothing else done!
Having recently read about the damage the cruise industry is having on pollution, carbon and ecology, Iβm very surprised to see this. Unfollowed.
Bar chart showing the trend in water conflicts from 2000 through 2023, where water was a trigger, weapon, or casualty of conflict. 2023 was a record year, after 2022 was also a record year. More than 350 events were recorded in 2023.
The latest data from the #Water Conflict Chronology database of the Pacific Institute shows continued major increases in violence associated with freshwater resources.
The searchable database is available here: www.worldwater.org/water-confli...
Unbelievable that we ever considered we knew enough about them to declare they didnβt. Humans are not superior to other species, just different.
The UK also uses chlorine, with ozone as well if needed.
Shame, but the fact he is being asked is significant..
No plans to join Bluesky yet, Starmer says www.bbc.com/news/article...
Great article, explores the impacts in terms of carbon, water, pollution and land use. Also busts myths on supposedly low impact ways to raise cattle.

Not a recent article but I thought worth highlighting. More education of how much water is used is vital.
They also need significant amounts of water so need to be located in places where there is no a deficit in supplies.
Even though this article is dated today the number of users on Bluesky π¦ is under by 2 millionβ¦
I think Starmer has no choice but to say thereβs no need to change lifestyles - otherwise the right wing media would go to town on him (I can picture the headlines) and he would lose peopleβs support.
