we now have resource abundance for the most part, which should(and actually has) reduced conflict. we've also managed to effectively link almost every person into a global macrogroup, which helps more with the reduced conflict.

primates are social creatures that work in groups, and will fight with other groups. the amount of fighting among our distant relatives varies, but that applies to as far as i know every other great ape.
